Prayers for my girlfriend ###

My girlfriend and I are going through a tough situation, with anxiety leading up to my girlfriend ### court hearing in the morning, I pray charges are dropped and the case is dismissed, long story short she got into a altercation with my sister which led to her arrest about a month ago, but they released my girlfriend, and we have been dealing with anxiety all month, because she has court this morning. My girlfriend Is one of the sweetest and kind girl you could ever know. Please lord get us out of this situation.

We hear your heart and the weight of this situation pressing upon you both. Anxiety can be overwhelming, especially when facing unknown outcomes in a courtroom. We stand with you in prayer, lifting this burden before the Lord, who promises to be a refuge in times of trouble (Psalm 9:9). The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

First, we must address the foundation of your relationship. You refer to her as your "girlfriend," but Scripture calls believers to pursue courtship with the goal of marriage, honoring God’s design for a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). If this relationship is not moving toward marriage, we encourage you both to seek the Lord’s will in this season. If it is, we pray for wisdom and clarity as you navigate this trial together, with the intention of building a godly marriage rooted in Christ.

Now, regarding the situation at hand, conflict between your girlfriend and your sister, we must rebuke the spirit of strife and division. The Bible warns that "where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work" (James 3:16). We pray for reconciliation between them, that forgiveness would flow, and that any lingering bitterness would be uprooted in Jesus’ name. If there has been sin on either side, we encourage repentance and restoration, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).

As for the court hearing, we declare that the Lord is your advocate and defender. Proverbs 21:1 tells us, "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires." We pray that the judge’s heart would be inclined toward mercy and justice, that any false accusations would be exposed, and that the truth would prevail. If the charges are not just, we stand on the promise that "no weapon that is formed against you will prevail" (Isaiah 54:17). If there is guilt, we pray for grace and an opportunity for redemption, for the Lord is faithful to forgive when we confess our sins (1 John 1:9).

We also lift up your girlfriend’s character, her kindness and sweetness are a reflection of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). In this time of anxiety, we pray that she would cast all her cares upon the Lord, for He cares for her (1 Peter 5:7). May she find strength in His presence, knowing that "God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach Your throne of grace. Lord, we lift up this situation to You, asking for Your divine intervention. We pray for peace to guard their hearts and minds as they await the outcome of this court hearing. We ask that You would move upon the heart of the judge, that justice and mercy would prevail. If there has been wrongdoing, we pray for repentance and restoration. If there has been false accusation, we pray for truth to be revealed.

Father, we also lift up their relationship. If it is Your will, we pray that You would guide them toward marriage, a covenant that honors You. If not, we ask for wisdom and clarity to walk in Your ways. We rebuke the spirit of anxiety and fear, declaring that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

We thank You for hearing our prayer, for You are faithful to Your promises. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you both to seek the Lord together, not just in times of trouble, but daily. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). If you have not already, we urge you to surrender your lives fully to Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have questions about salvation or what it means to follow Christ, we are here to guide you further. You are not alone in this, God is with you, and so are we.

We’re praying with you this morning, holding ### and you in our hearts as her court hearing begins. The long wait and not knowing have a way of wearing you down, and we understand that weight of anxiety you’ve carried all month. You’ve described a kind woman you love, and no matter what anyone else says about that day, the Lord sees her as you see her, and he is near.

Right now, as you’re likely waiting for news, try to stay grounded: take a slow breath, hold each other’s hand if you are together, and whisper the simplest prayer, “Jesus, you are here.” You don’t need to have the right words; he knows. And while you wait, know that we are not the only ones lifting you up, this whole community of prayer stands with you, asking God to bring a just and merciful outcome, and to give both of you steady peace no matter what unfolds.

Lord Jesus, wrap ### and this man in your presence this morning. Quiet the racing thoughts, calm the physical trembling, and give them clarity. We ask for wisdom for the judge and all involved, and for a resolution that brings an end to this heavy season. Even if the path ahead still holds uncertainty, steady their trust in your faithfulness. Provide a supportive person nearby to walk with them today, and let them sense your nearness in tangible ways. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

The agitation of your soul speaks loudly in your words, and it is well that you have brought this trouble before the throne of grace. Yet, let me press this upon you: the Lord is not honoured by a faith that only clasps His hand when the storm beats hardest, then releases its hold the moment the sky clears. He waits to be gracious, and His long-suffering should lead you to a settled trust, not a mere cry of temporary distress. Your anxiety has lasted a month, but the Eternal God has been quietly waiting all the while, waiting for you to leave the whole case in His hands. Is not this the very thing that honours Him? To call upon Him in the day of trouble, and then to rest, believing that His promise is sure, His power unfailing, and His wisdom beyond all earthly courts? That calmness under trial is the mark of a soul who really knows her God.

The outcome you desire is natural, and you have spread it before the Lord. But now, I charge you, be silent before Him. Do not measure His faithfulness by the dropping of charges or the dismissal of a case, as though His love hung upon the decree of a judge. If He bade you walk through a far heavier trial, even that would be heaven to the soul that leans wholly upon Him. You are too dependent upon a swift deliverance; you are leaning upon the hope of a morning’s news. Lay that desperate clutching aside, and make God your only confidence. He has all power to keep His promise, whether the trouble remains or is taken away. The childlike uncovering of the heart is precious to Him, but the fretful surveying of every wind of circumstance is not. Go, do the right and lawful thing, and then leave the result with God. Your peace ought to be like a river, not a shallow brook stirred to mud by every passing hoof of trouble.

Yet I must be faithful. You speak of your girlfriend as one of the sweetest and kindest, but there is a deeper sweetness to be sought. The outward trouble of a court hearing is bitter, but the trouble for sin is far more keen and lasting. Has this month’s anxiety taught you both to look within? The honest dealing with God begins not with a petition for mere circumstance, but with the confession that we are sinners, whose only footing before a holy God is the blood of Christ. If you would know a peace that the world’s dismissals cannot give, come to the heavenly Father on the ground of truth, confessing sin, and resting only on the sacrifice of Jesus. That is the only shield against the undying worm of eternal remorse. Let not the first drops of earthly remorse be your only sip of that bitter cup; flee to Christ, and find in Him a gracious dismissal that speaks, “Go in peace.” Your faith, if it be fixed on Him alone, has saved you. Then, whether the earthly case is dropped or not, you shall be quiet and unshaken, for you will have a case in heaven already settled.

Therefore, calm your spirit. Let your meditation on Christ absorb the bitterness of this hour. Do not run to the counsel of neighbours, nor sit in silent despair, but wait only upon God. He has waited long to be gracious to you; now wait for Him in patient trust. If He gives relief this morning, bless His name, but trust not in the relief. If He does not, still bless His name, and trust not in your own understanding. A life wholly stayed on God is a sea of glass, untroubled by passing squalls. I pray that you and she may both be by this trial driven nearer to the heart of Christ, and find there a joy that no earthly judge can grant or withhold.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
