Prayers for my daughters

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray that my daughter's ### and ### both find a nice educated, family oriented, catholic guy, who also has a great career and that is loving, good looking, healthy for them to marry. Please pray for joy and happiness to their lives. They are nice beautiful young woman who truly deserve happiness. Please please pray for this for them. Thank you and God bless all of you.

We hear your heartfelt plea for your daughters, and we join you in lifting them up before the Lord. It is beautiful to see a parent’s love and desire for their children to walk in God’s blessings, joy, and purpose. We pray with you, believing that God hears and answers the cries of His people when they align with His will.

First, we must address the mention of "Catholic" in your request. While we respect all who seek to follow Christ, we must stand firmly on Scripture alone as our ultimate authority. The Bible warns us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Our trust must be in God’s Word, not in traditions or doctrines that may contradict it. We pray that your daughters would come to know Jesus Christ not just as a religious figure, but as their personal Lord and Savior, the only way to the Father (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We encourage them to seek a personal relationship with Jesus, grounded in the truth of Scripture, rather than relying solely on religious affiliation.

Now, let us pray for your daughters according to God’s Word. Father, we lift up these precious young women to You. You know the desires of their hearts, and You care deeply for them. We ask that You would prepare godly men for them, men who love You above all else, who are committed to Your Word, and who will lead them in righteousness. Lord, we pray that these men would be men of integrity, wisdom, and strength, as described in Proverbs 31:10-11: "Who can find a worthy woman? For her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain." May these men be providers, protectors, and spiritual leaders, reflecting Christ’s love in their lives.

We also pray that Your Holy Spirit would guide your daughters in their search for a spouse. Help them to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33), trusting that You will add all these things unto them. Guard their hearts from impatience, worldly standards, or compromise. May they find joy and contentment in You alone, even as they wait for Your timing. Father, we ask that You would bless them with godly friendships and mentors who will encourage them in their faith and walk with You.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of loneliness, discouragement, or fear that may try to take root in their hearts. We declare that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that You have plans for them, plans for welfare, not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Fill them with Your peace and joy as they trust in You.

We also want to gently address the emphasis on outward qualities such as "good-looking" or "great career." While these things are not inherently wrong, we must remember that Your Word tells us in 1 Samuel 16:7, "But Yahweh said to Samuel, ‘Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for I don’t see as man sees. For man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart.’" We pray that your daughters would value godly character above all else, seeking men who love You and walk in Your ways. Help them to see beyond the surface and to trust in Your perfect plan for their lives.

Father, we ask that You would draw these young women closer to You. May they grow in their faith, rooted and built up in Christ (Colossians 2:7). Surround them with Your love and protection, and let them experience the fullness of joy that comes from walking with You. We pray that their lives would be a testimony of Your grace and that they would shine as lights in this world (Matthew 5:16).

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for letting us share in your heartfelt prayers for your daughters. We can hear how much you love them and how earnestly you want to see them settled in joyful, Christ-centered marriages. We join you in lifting them up, trusting that God knows the deepest desires of their hearts and yours, and that He works all things for good.

While we pray for godly, loving husbands who will cherish them and walk alongside them in faith, we also remember that the truest happiness and peace are found first in a living relationship with Jesus. As you continue to pray, perhaps you might invite your daughters into those prayers, too, sharing your hopes with them and, together, placing those longings in God’s hands. That quiet act can draw your family closer and deepen everyone’s trust in His timing.

We pray:

Father, thank You for these two women, so beloved by their mother and by You. You have good plans for each of them. In Your perfect way, guide them to men who love You, who will honor and cherish them, and who will build a life that reflects Your faithfulness. Until that day, fill their hearts with Your joy, guard their hope, and let them know they are seen and held by You. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord. Amen.

What a natural yearning it is for a parent to see their children wedded in joy! Yet I must ask, have you sought first for your daughters the better Husband, even Christ Jesus? The joy that you desire for them is not to be found in the attributes of a mere man, educated, of good career, or of fair appearance, but in union with the Lord Himself. Let them first be married to Him, rejoicing in the Lord always, and then their earthly joy shall be full.

Your request speaks of a Catholic husband, but I fear for any soul that is unequally yoked with an unbeliever. True religion is not a name but a living faith in Christ alone. I beseech you, pray rather that your daughters may be given husbands who fear God and are true believers, heirs of salvation. What profit is a fine appearance if the heart be far from the Lord? Look to Sarah, our mother, who shared the same faith as her husband and so entered the same promised joy.

Point them to the joy that is in God alone. There is a joy in harvest, a joy of answered prayer, which comes when we trust the Lord for our household. I would that you cry out for their souls to be bound up in Christ and for His will concerning their earthly lot. The Lord is the Husband of His people, and if your daughters are daughters of the King, He will provide for them as He sees best. You say they deserve happiness; but we deserve nothing but wrath. It is grace that gives joy, and that joy is in the Lord, not in a perfect earthly match.

Let them seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added. Pray with them, that they may know the joy of salvation, for without that, even the best marriage is but a gilded misery. I will pray that they may be led to trust in Jesus and that, being married to Him, they may find whatever earthly companion He appoints to be a helpmeet for their eternal good. Yet I must counsel you: set not your heart on the outward qualities of a suitor, but on the inward grace of a true child of God.

And for joy, there is a command: Rejoice in the Lord always. Teach them this. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit, not of circumstance. Let them be joyful in their King, and their lives shall be a harvest festival even in solitude. I have seen saints with nothing but God, and yet they rejoiced. I have seen saints with ungodly partners, and yet they still joyed in God. Do not seek the world’s definition of happiness, but the unsearchable riches of Christ.

Go to your knees, and pray not merely for these temporal gifts, but that your daughters may be numbered among the daughters of Sarah, doing well and not being afraid with any amazement. The Lord is faithful; He will bring the harvest home. Only see to it that your hope is in Him, and not in a list of earthly perfections. I will join my prayers with yours, that they may both find that joy which is unspeakable and full of glory, whether they marry or remain single, for our Royal Husband Himself is the fullness of joy.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In Jesus name. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You desire prayer that your daughters may find husbands who are educated, family-minded, Catholic, with prosperous careers, and who are loving, handsome, and healthy. I understand a mother’s heart, but let us set our affections on things above and not on earthly advantages. Marriage is honorable and ordained by God, yet its true blessedness does not flow from a fair face, a full purse, or a respected name. The soul that is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him; so the husband your daughters need is one who fears God and walks in His commandments, not merely one who wears the label of Catholic. There are many who call themselves by that name yet deny the power of true faith. Pray rather that they may be given men who have the faith that saves, who live chastely, and who will lead them toward holiness.

Instruct your daughters to be pious, modest, keepers at home, despisers of wealth, and indifferent to outward ornament. Let them be distinguished for steadiness and sobriety, for such a character is of great price before God. When they are rooted in these virtues, they will attract, not the licentious who are formed by the stage and worldly spectacles, but sober men who seek a helpmate in the Lord. A marriage according to Christ is spiritual, not driven by passion or the love of display. It is not the grand wedding feast or the handsome appearance that secures joy, but two hearts united in chastity and the fear of God.

I will pray that God grants them spouses who are truly in Christ, who love their families, and who work honestly; but do not measure a man’s worth by his career or his body, which are passing away. Happiness is found where Christ dwells in the home, where husband and wife use marriage with moderation and pursue holiness together. May your daughters seek first the kingdom of God, and all else will be added to them in His time.

I hear the longing in your heart for your daughters’ futures. You love them deeply, and you are carrying real desires for them to find husbands who will cherish them and share their faith. That kind of love moves us to pray, and I am glad you brought this here.

Jesus himself, the Son of God, saw the necessity of prayer. He would rise early, slip away to a solitary place, and pour out his heart to the Father. If he needed that constant communion for strength and guidance, how much more do we need to bring every care to the Lord? The first and greatest thing we can do for any person we love is to lay them before God. Not just once, but again and again, as Jesus taught us when he returned to pray the same words in the garden. He was not afraid to persist. So bring these hopes for your daughters back to the Lord. He is not wearied by a mother’s faithful prayers.

What we are really asking for in prayer is for God to work his will. Yes, you have a picture in your mind of a man who is educated, family-oriented, loving, and healthy. Those are natural desires. But remember that when Jesus spoke of marriage, he pointed to something far deeper: the two become one. That is a spiritual union, a compound unity that reflects the very nature of God. More than any external quality, your daughters need a husband who will be one with them in the Lord, who will lead them closer to Christ, and who will build a home on the rock of his Word. Pray that God will prepare such men, and that he will prepare your daughters to be wives who fear him. That is the real victory we seek in the prayer closet, long before any wedding day. The battles for a godly marriage are won on our knees.

Fasting and prayer are powerful because they reverse the normal order. We set aside feeding the body to feed the spirit, and as our spirit grows strong, we gain victory over the flesh. Consider adding fasting to your prayers for this season. When we deny ourselves and wait on God, he shapes our desires to match his own. Your daughters’ joy and happiness will not ultimately come from a man with a great career or good looks, but from walking in the center of God’s will. Pray that they find their satisfaction in Christ first, and that any earthly marriage would be an overflow of that deeper joy.

Do not warm yourself at the enemy’s fire by growing anxious or trying to control this outcome in your own strength. Trust the Lord with the timing and the details. Keep praying, keep feeding your spirit through his Word, and believe that he hears you. I join you in asking for God’s best for these beautiful young women, that his purposes would be fulfilled in their lives for his glory.
