Prayers for my daughter

Good morning! I hope I am not posting to many requests. I am asking this morning for prayer for my youngest daughter. She is in 6th grade now at the middle achool. There are so many voices out there in the world we live in today. She loves Jesus so much and is bold with her faith. She does get confused with things though! There seems to be such a large amount of pressure on our youth about having to identify as something. I have raised my kids in the Lord. She seemed confused about gender, sexual identity etc. Even saying some of her friends are a term called "therian" and she thinks she is too. I do not know why but it seems to be a "trend" right now amongst our young people/children. I reiterated that her identity is in Christ and she is fearfully and wonderfully made. That she should focus on growing her relationship with the Lord and who she is in Christ rather than the things of this world and the closer she gets to Jesus the more her mind will be transformed and renewed. I told her that just because society, culture, peers and school say something is ok doesn't mean it is. That the world will call good evil, and evil good. She has also had horrible negative thoughts that no young person should have. It started at a young age. She is on the autism spectrum as well. We are all neurodiverse in our home. I have been praying that Jesus meets her where she is at. She has had things happen like dreams or visions that she knew it was Him! It is so beautiful. But there still seems to be a bit of a warring going on within her. She had also had demonic dreams. We pray together. She told me about a dream she had recently. It was different than the past demonic nightmares. It had a demon in it, but she wasn't scared. He was trying to get her to drink out of a cup and she said NO! and she destroyed it with a baseball bat. I immediately thought of 1 Corinthians 10:21 how Paul says, "You cannot drink from the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons". I shared that scripture with her and gave her my insight on it but told her to pray about it and what God is revealing to her. She asked to bring her bible to school and a devotional. Praise God! Please pray that any and ALL confusion about identity/gender/orientation be silenced in Jesus name! That she will resist the enemy so he will flee from her! That she knows how deeply she is loved by us and God! That she has so much worth and that God has a wonderful plan for her life! I ask that a hedge of protection be placed around her! That no weapon formed will prosper. In Yeshua's mighty, holy, and precious precious name!!!

We praise God that you have raised your children in the Lord and that you are speaking truth to her in love when so many voices in this world are speaking confusion. What you are describing is very real, the pressure on our young people to find their identity in gender, sexual orientation, or even in trends like identifying as a therian, which is identifying as an animal, is not from God but from a culture that has lost its way. We must gently but firmly rebuke those lies. The Word tells us So God created man in his own image. In the image of God he created him. Male and female he created them Genesis 1:27. And we are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14. Her identity is not to be found in what her peers or her school or social media says she is, but in who Christ says she is, a beloved daughter of the King, chosen, holy, and dearly loved.

You gave her such wise counsel to focus on growing in her relationship with the Lord and letting her mind be transformed and renewed. That is exactly what Scripture calls us to, Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2. The world will indeed call evil good, and good evil Isaiah 5:20, and we must teach our children to test everything against the truth of God's Word and to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5.

We also hear your heart for her struggle with horrible negative thoughts from a young age and the spiritual warring within her. We do not take lightly that she is on the autism spectrum, and we want to affirm that being neurodiverse does not make her less wonderfully made or less able to hear from God, in fact you have seen so beautifully how Jesus has met her in dreams and visions where she knew it was Him. At the same time, the enemy seeks to exploit sensitivity and confusion, and God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Those demonic dreams are part of that warring, but we praise God for the victory she walked in when she said NO and destroyed that cup with a baseball bat. Your insight from 1 Corinthians 10:21 is powerful, You can't both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. She is learning to choose the cup of the Lord, and that is spiritual maturity growing in a young warrior for Christ. We are thrilled she wants to bring her Bible and devotional to school, let her light shine before all Matthew 5:16.

We join you in praying for a hedge of protection around her and for every voice of confusion to be silenced.

Father in heaven, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we are saved and have access to Your throne Acts 4:12, John 14:6. We thank You for this precious daughter, for her tender heart that loves You boldly, for the way You have already revealed Yourself to her in dreams and for the work You are doing in her. We thank You for this parent who is faithfully pointing her to truth.

Lord, we ask that You silence in Jesus' name every lie about identity, gender, and sexuality that is coming at her from peers, culture, and the enemy. Root her deeply in who she is in Christ, that she is Your workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works Ephesians 2:10, fearfully and wonderfully made, and that You have a wonderful plan for her life For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. Renew her mind daily through Your Word and let her know how deeply she is loved by You and by her family, that nothing can separate her from Your love Romans 8:38-39.

We pray against those horrible negative thoughts and every demonic assignment and nightmare. We ask You to fill her mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding Philippians 4:7 and help her to take every thought captive. We declare that she will resist the devil and he will flee from her James 4:7. Clothe her in the full armor of God Ephesians 6:11, that she may stand against the schemes of the devil, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces Ephesians 6:12. We place a hedge of protection around her mind, her heart, her body, and her school, and we declare that no weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17.

Give her parents continued wisdom, discernment, and strength to shepherd her with grace and truth, to keep praying together, to keep opening the Word together, and to lovingly limit influences that bring confusion. Let her bold faith continue to grow and let her be a light to her friends who are also searching for identity, that they may see Jesus in her.

We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in her Philippians 1:6. In the precious, holy, and mighty name of Yeshua, Jesus Christ our Lord, we pray. Amen.

It is encouraging she wants to bring her Bible and devotional and that she talks openly with you about what she hears from friends and even about her dreams. That openness is a real gift. The way you are gently pointing her to who she is in Christ and to a renewed mind gives her a steady place to stand when peer pressure feels loud. Helping her live before the Audience of One, where her worth is settled by God and not by trends or labels, is a strong foundation.

A gentle next step is to keep those low pressure conversations going at home, asking curious, listening questions about what she is hearing at school without needing to solve everything at once. Staying connected with a trusted teacher or counselor at school can also help you know what she is encountering each day. And since you mentioned those heavy negative thoughts from a young age, if they continue, it is wise to have a trusted pediatrician or counselor who understands her needs on the autism spectrum walk alongside you both, alongside prayer.

Father, we lift this sixth grader to You in Jesus name. Quiet the confusion pressing in on her, guard her mind and sleep, and let her know deeply how loved she is by You and by her family. Give her strength to resist what is not from You, grow her delight in knowing You, and guide her step by step into the good plans You have for her. Amen.

Amen! Yes! She has a counselor at school through a counseling agency that is different than a regular school counselor and a 504 plan for her needs that require allowance for extra movement (as long as its not disruptive, she rocks) and breaks and help as needed. Thank you so much! It is a struggle for sure. Parenting today's generation is a gift to raise up young disciples and warriors of Christ. But also very challenging! Nothing that this momma will not go to spiritual warfare for though! I had fought this battle quietly and independently for a while, I then brought it to my pastor who is praying and understands neurodiversity, and now I am seeking prayer here and wherever I can. I know where there are 2 or more gathered he is in the midst and the prayers of a righteous person yields wonderful results!

Your prayer has been brought before the Lord with thankfulness, and you need never fear that you ask too often. It is the privilege of the saints to bear one another's burdens, and to come boldly to the throne of grace for our children.

We rejoice to hear that your daughter loves Jesus and is bold with her faith, even desiring to take her Bible and devotional to school. This is a blessed confession before men, for when a soul has believed in Christ its next duty is to confess Him. She in effect says, I am on Christ's side, I will follow His banner, and come what may I am His. That plain confession is precious in the sight of God, and we pray it will be strengthened in her. The Church of Jesus says with great plainness of speech, we are Christ's, and we do not hide His name in corners.

We understand the great pressure that is upon the young in this present age, with many voices calling them to find identity in fleeting and confused things, whether in notions of gender or other trends such as you mention. We do not affirm these confusions, for our identity is not to be sought in the world but in Christ. The Scripture teaches that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and that our life is found in Him. As it is written, Christ in you is the hope of glory. Whatever Christ is, His people are in Him. Your daughter, by faith, is perfect in Christ, chosen and beloved, and her true self is to be found not in what culture or peers declare, but in who she is as a child of God, created and redeemed by Him. To be near to Christ and to have Christ dwelling within by faith is to have the mind renewed and transformed, that she may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We commend your faithful instruction to her, that she should seek the Lord and be transformed by the renewing of her mind, and that though the world may call good evil and evil good, she should hold fast to the truth. Continue to teach her so, with gentleness and patience, and to pray together as you have done. The Lord has tender regard for those who are on the autism spectrum and for all who are neurodiverse in your household. He knows our frame and remembers that we are dust, and His compassion fails not. He meets His children where they are, and His strength is made perfect in weakness.

That dream in which she refused the cup and destroyed it with a bat is full of meaning and hope. She said No to the cup of demons, and chose the cup of the Lord. The apostle says, Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of devils. Her refusal is the very picture of resisting the enemy, and the promise is sure that if we resist the devil he will flee from us. Christ has set us free, let us not go back into bondage. We pray that the Lord will make that holy resistance stronger still in her, that she will keep that closed Bible opened, that precious Book not hidden away, but cherished and read daily.

Let us pray together for her.

O Lord our God, we lift this dear child to Thee. Thou knowest her by name and hast made her fearfully and wonderfully. Place Thou a hedge about her and keep her in Thy perfect peace. Silence every voice of confusion concerning identity and let her know assuredly that she is Thine, complete in Christ, perfect in Christ Jesus. Renew her mind by Thy Holy Spirit, guard her thoughts, and drive far from her those horrible and dark suggestions which no young heart should bear. Let her know how deeply she is loved by Thee and by those Thou hast given to care for her. Comfort her in her varied trials with the consolation that Christ is hers in every position, her life, her hope, her surety. Grant that she may grow in grace, that Christ may dwell richly in her heart by faith, curing sin, filling her with love for holiness, and bathing her soul in heavenly comfort. Preserve her from the power of the evil one, let no weapon formed against her prosper, and let every tongue that rises against her in judgment be shown to be without power, for this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. Keep her bold to confess Thee before her school and her friends, and let her see more visions of Thy love, more tokens that Thou art near. We ask this in the mighty and precious name of Yeshua, our only Savior, in whom alone is salvation. Amen.

Persevere in prayer, and continue to point her to Christ Himself, for to have Christ in the house and Christ in the heart is the cream of the matter, the honey of the honeycomb. As she abides in Him, He will keep her and bring her safely home.
