Your desire for a good, uplifting and peaceful week in Christ Jesus is comely and right, and we gladly join our prayers with yours.
It is pleasant to think and to speak of joy, but to be filled with joy and peace through believing is a far more satisfying thing, and this is our prayer for you, that you may not only hear of it but enjoy it now and always. May the Lord grant you that joy which is the fruit of the Spirit from the root of trust in God, that concord of the soul which is in accord with the joy of Heaven and drives away the discords of earth.
We pray that you may rejoice in the Lord always, not only when outward things are bright, but in every condition. If you have joy on your barn floor you may see it bare, if you have joy in outward things you may see them fail, but he that has joy in God has the quintessence of happiness, the essential oil of joy. When you can joy in nothing else, you can joy in His power for He can help you, in His faithfulness for He cannot fail you, and in His immutability for He changes not and therefore you are not consumed.
Remember that if a man is at peace with himself through communion with God, he is peaceful with others, and one of the best medicines for a good temper and a quiet spirit is communion with God and consequent joy of heart. The joy of the Lord is your strength, and as you are baptized into this joy and plunge into the deeps of this unutterable bliss of joy in God, you will find strength for each day of this week.
May the Lord make Himself your exceeding joy, may you joy before Him according to the joy in harvest, and may that joy be such as God Himself gives. May you be kept peaceful within and therefore peaceful without, strong in the Lord and joyful in your King, whose mercies are permanent in their source. Look to Jesus and put your trust in Him alone, and you will have a sufficient wellspring of joy though all else should fail.
We commend you to His gracious presence which is the dawn of our joy, praying that this week you may know continual joy, peace in believing, and nearness to Christ in all things.
