Prayers for another good week.
We thank you for sharing this request with us and we rejoice with you that you have been doing better with your anxiety and OCD, and we join you in praying for another good and better week ahead. We see the progress the Lord has already granted you and we give thanks for His mercy and faithfulness.
We know that anxiety and intrusive thoughts can feel overwhelming, but the Word reminds us that we are not left to carry these burdens alone. We are told in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And in 1 Peter 5:7 we are told to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you. The Lord does not want you to live in fear, for 2 Timothy 1:7 says For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Even when your mind feels under attack, His power and love are greater.
We also hear your concern about the enemy hitting you in your dreams, and we agree with you that the Lord must rebuke the enemy. Scripture shows us that the Lord Himself rebukes Satan, as in Zechariah 3:2 where Yahweh said to Satan, Yahweh rebuke you, Satan, and in Jude 1:9 where even Michael the archangel did not bring a railing judgment but said, The Lord rebuke you. We stand on James 4:7 which says Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Dreams can feel very real and distressing, but God is sovereign even over our sleep. In Psalm 4:8 we read In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety, and in Psalm 91:11 we are promised For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. We pray that you will experience that guarded, peaceful sleep that comes from trusting Him.
We notice your request asks that the Lord rebukes the enemy, but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by the name of Jesus that the enemy must flee and that we find peace, forgiveness, and eternal life. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You together and we thank You for the improvement You have already brought in this dear one's anxiety and OCD. We ask for another good week, a better week filled with Your peace and strength. We ask You to guard this one's heart and mind in Christ Jesus and to replace anxious and intrusive thoughts with Your truth. We rebuke the enemy in the mighty name of Jesus and we ask You, Lord, to rebuke Satan and every evil influence that would try to torment in dreams. Cover this one as they sleep, let Your peace guard their rest, and let Your angels keep watch. Help them to put on the full armor of God and to dwell on Your Word before sleeping and upon waking. Fill their nights with Your presence and their days with hope and calm. We pray all of this in the powerful and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

We have received your request with gratitude to God that you have known a better week, and that in His mercy your spirit has been somewhat eased from the heaviness of anxiety and the torment of intrusive thoughts. To hear that the Lord has granted you relief is cause for thanksgiving, for every deliverance is of His own hand, and He brings forth His people not by their own strength but by His power alone.
You speak truly when you say the enemy still assails you, even in dreams. The adversary is subtle, and when he cannot prevail against you in the waking hours, he will shoot his arrows in the night season. Yet remember that deliverance from the power of darkness is the work of God, and He who has delivered us is able to keep us. As we have often said, anxiety has never comforted any man, nor has it ever brought grist to the mill or meal to the barrel. It unfits the soul to meet its difficulty, while faith fits it to stand. Our Saviour says, do not be so affected by outward things as to get into a state of worry and distress. Be prudent and watchful, but cast your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Do not think that the Lord is deaf to the cry that rises even from broken sleep. He who watches over Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps, and He is present in the night watches. The same Christ who has found a ransom and delivered the sinner from going down to the pit has also promised to save from sin itself and from all the attacks of the old foe. The clock of mercy has struck for you in Christ, and the ransom has been found. Therefore you may look to your heavenly Father altogether and alone for sanctification and for peace in the dark hours.
We will pray with you and for you, that the Lord will rebuke the tempter and cause his devices to fail, that He will give you quietness in your thoughts by day and guard your mind by night, and that you may be kept in perfect peace as your mind is stayed upon Him. May He grant you another good week, not merely in outward ease but in inward rest, and may He make your deliverance effectual so that you shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord. If the Lord has chastened you sorely, He has not given you over unto death, and He will yet bring you forth with enrichment, as He brought Israel forth with silver and gold.
Our prayer for you is that the Lord Jesus Christ, who has wrought a greater salvation than that of Barak, would speak peace to your troubled conscience, still the storm of anxious thought, rebuke the evil one who would harass you in dreams, and cover you with His own presence through the night. May you awake refreshed, with a song of deliverance on your lips, and may your continued trials furnish you with yet more to declare of His faithfulness.
