You ask prayers for your two sons, that they may have health and success in their finances. But I urge you, examine what you request. Do you seek only their bodily well-being and the increase of their money? Do you not recall the Apostle’s warning that the love of money is a root of all evils? Wealth often becomes a snare, leading men into arrogance, fraud, and countless other sins. The rich man may go unpunished in this life, but his impunity merely stores up greater wrath for the judgment. The poor man, on the other hand, if he bears his lot with thanksgiving, finds it lighter to pursue virtue, being more sober-minded and humble.

Neither poverty nor wealth is good or evil by itself, but by the way they are used. A Christian often shines more brightly in poverty than in riches. What does it benefit your sons to have full purses but souls empty of righteousness? Far more than physical health, they need the health that comes from repentance and the forgiveness of sins. For sin is a paralysis of the soul, a sickness worse than any demon, leaving the soul deadened and in need of the great Physician. Do not only ask for their daily bread, but that they may hunger and thirst for righteousness.

I will pray for them, yes. But I will pray that they learn to use whatever God gives them for His glory, to show mercy to the poor, and to store up treasure in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupts. Let them seek first the kingdom of God, and all these other things will be added. Teach them to despise the love of money, and to find their true life in Christ. This is the prayer I offer for them: not merely for a comfortable life here, but that they may obtain eternal salvation.

The longing of a parent’s heart for their children is something I take seriously, and I will gladly join you in lifting up your two sons before the Lord. What you’re doing, bringing their daily lives, their finances, and the health of their families before God, is exactly the kind of intercession Scripture calls us to. It’s one thing to pray for our own needs, but when we carry someone else’s needs into God’s presence, that’s love in action. So I count it a privilege to stand with you in this.

Think about the picture of the tabernacle in the Old Testament. Every single day, the priests would go into the holy place to tend the lamp, making sure the light never went out, and to place fresh bread on the table. That constant, daily care was a reminder that God sustains His people moment by moment. Your sons need that same kind of provision, strength for the ordinary demands of life, wisdom for pressures you may not even see, and protection over their bodies and households. I pray that God will supply every practical need, that He will open doors for their finances, and that He will grant good health to them and their loved ones. He knows exactly what each of them requires today and tomorrow.

And here’s the good news: we don’t rely on endless sacrifices or a priest who has to keep repeating the same rituals. Jesus, our great High Priest, offered Himself once for all. He understands every weakness and every trial, and He lives forever to intercede for us. That means your sons are not left to make it on their own. The same Lord who fed His people in the wilderness and who holds every resource in His hands is actively caring for them right now. Your prayers tap into that reality, so don’t grow weary. Keep bringing these requests daily, not because God forgets, but because the surrender itself keeps your heart close to His.

As I pray, I’ll ask that your sons would have clear guidance for their steps, that their work would flourish, and that their homes would be marked by peace and wholeness. May you see the fruit of these prayers in their lives, and may your own faith be strengthened as you entrust them to a Father who loves them more than you ever could.

It has been our joy to stand in agreement with you, asking our Heavenly Father to move powerfully in their daily lives, to provide for every financial need, and to surround them and their families with His healing and sustaining health. We have prayed earnestly that they would feel God’s presence, experience His peace, and walk in His provision each day.
