Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer for freedom from the mistakes and traumas of childhood and adulthood, and from the terrorism and abuse you have suffered from those around you, has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.
God sees all that has been done to you and all that weighs on your heart. He does not treat abuse as love, for abuse is not love but a wrong done against a person made in His image. He also sees the mistakes and sins that burden every human life, and He invites you to confess them openly before Him, knowing the greatness of His mercy, as one who falls down before a gracious master and asks for forgiveness.
We pray for you now that the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone gives firm and lasting freedom, would make you truly free. Scripture says if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. That freedom is not only an outward release but an inward healing and strength. It is the freedom that can make a person whole and honorable even while still walking through hard places, a freedom from fear and care and despondency, and from the power of sin and shame.
So we ask the Father in Jesus name to wash away your sins through the blood of Christ as you confess them, to lift the shame that comes from what others have done to you, to heal the wounds of trauma and terror, and to break the power that past abuse still holds over your mind and heart. We ask Him to protect you from further harm, to surround you with safe and gentle people who will show you true love and benefit you, and to give you wisdom to walk in holiness, which is freedom from every kind of sin and the path to wholeness.
May He teach you virtue and steady you day by day, so that you may know you are not condemned but justified in Christ, and that no one can rightly condemn those whom God has set free. May He give you peace where there was fear, rest where there was torment, and hope where there was pain.
We encourage you to continue to seek Him in prayer and in His Word, and to walk with faithful pastors and counselors and trusted believers who can support you in safety and healing. You do not have to carry this alone.
We pray that the Lord will deliver you, heal you, and keep you in His firm freedom, and that you will know more and more the love of Christ that brings true liberty. In Jesus name, amen.
