My name is ###, and my wife’s name is ###. She is ### months pregnant, and unfortunately, her cervix has opened about one finger. The doctor told us that we need God’s miracle and that if the pregnancy can continue for a few more weeks, there may be a chance for the baby to survive. Please pray for my wife ### and our baby.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up ### and his precious wife ###, along with their unborn child. Father God, we know that You are the Author of life, the One who knits each child together in the womb (Psalm 139:13-14). You see the fear and uncertainty they are facing, and we ask for Your mighty hand of healing and protection to rest upon this little one.

Lord, we pray for a supernatural strengthening of ###’s body. Close her cervix, we pray, and let this baby remain safely in the womb for as long as needed. Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses attending to her, that they may be guided by Your perfect knowledge. We declare that this child is fearfully and wonderfully made, and we speak life over them in Jesus’ name.

Father, we also lift up ### and ###’s faith. In moments of anxiety, remind them that You are their refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Help them to cast every care upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way.

We rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus, for You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on Your promises, Lord, trusting that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).

Heavenly Father, we ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who holds all life in His hands. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified through this trial. Amen.

We were so moved to read your note and we are holding you, your wife and your precious baby in prayer in this very tender and uncertain time. To hear that her cervix has opened and that these next weeks are so critical must leave you both feeling anxious and helpless as you wait.

We are asking the Lord for His mercy and sustaining care over your wife and your child, and for wisdom for the doctors who are caring for them. Please stay in close contact with your medical team and follow their guidance carefully, asking what signs should prompt you to call or return right away and what kind of rest and activity they advise for now. It is also a good time to let trusted family, friends or your pastor help with practical needs at home so your wife can rest as directed and you both have support close by.

This waiting is hard, and you do not have to carry it alone. We are praying God will give you both quiet strength for each day and make His nearness known to you moment by moment.

Father, we lift this wife, her husband and their little one to You in Jesus' name. Lay Your hand of protection upon them both, guide the hands of those caring for them, and according to Your perfect will grant life and health. Fill this family with Your peace as they trust You day by day. Amen.

Your request has been heard and we have borne it before the Lord with tender concern for your wife and for the little life within her womb. To hear that her cervix has opened and that the physician speaks of a miracle is to feel how fragile is life and how entirely we are in the hands of Him who formed the child and who numbers our days.

Be encouraged that you have not turned to an absent or powerless Saviour. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture says the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but His leaves also give healing virtue, changing the very life blood and making the nature other than it was before. He who healed the sick with a word and with a touch is still the great Miracle Worker, and He did nothing but speak and the powers of evil and disease were made to obey Him. His power to save and to heal does not lie in us, it lies wholly in Himself, and His Word still has omnipotent force.

We are reminded also that Christ is grand in emergencies. When the disciples considered not the miracle of the loaves they forgot this truth, but we would have you consider it now. He displays His power spontaneously, without need of pressing, and He is able to do more swiftly than we can speak of it. He forgets not the cry of the humble, and when you are brought low is the very time to cry unto Him. Healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction in the gospel, and when the Lord comes to dwell with His people He brings healing in His wings.

Let us pray for you both.

O Lord our God, Father of mercies, Thou who hast formed this child in the womb and who openest and none can shut, we bring before Thee this wife and mother and the tender life Thou hast entrusted to her. Thou art the heavenly Physician to whom we look for healing balm. We entreat Thee in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, who bore our sicknesses and by whose stripes we are healed, that Thou wouldst in Thy great mercy sustain this pregnancy. Lay Thy hand, we pray Thee, upon this mother, strengthen that which is weak, and keep this child under the shadow of Thy care. Grant wisdom to those who attend her, give peace to these anxious hearts, and let them feel that they are brought into contact with Christ Himself. Whatever Thy sovereign will shall ordain, let them know that Thou doest all things well, and that Thy grace is sufficient. We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Jesus is worthy, and His name is our plea. Give faith to trust Thee, and let Thy will be done in love. Amen.

Cast your burden upon the Lord and rest in Him. Continue to wait upon Him in prayer, continue under the care appointed for you, and may the Lord make His presence very near to your household in these weeks. We will continue to remember you both before the throne.

Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. Your request for your wife and your unborn child has been heard and we are joining you in prayer before our merciful God.

We understand the fear and helplessness you feel hearing that her cervix has opened and that the doctors can do little except watch and hope. In such moments we are reminded how fragile life is and how fully we depend on the Lord who formed this child. He is compassionate and provident, and He gives even before we ask, and He does His part even when our faith is weak and our hearts are troubled.

We pray now for your wife and for the life within her. We ask the Father, who did not spare His own Son but gave Him for us, to extend His protecting hand over them both. We ask Him to strengthen and close what has opened, to grant peace and rest to your wife's body, to give wisdom and steady hands to the doctors and nurses who care for her, and to keep this child safe so that the pregnancy may continue for the weeks needed for life to be sustained. We ask Him to guard your wife from infection and distress, to calm her heart with His presence, and to sustain you both with endurance and hope.

Do not think that your prayer must be perfect to be heard. God often works not because we have earned a miracle but because He is merciful. At the same time, continue to walk soberly before Him, trusting His goodness whatever He permits, knowing that a life of faithful endurance and love for virtue is precious in His sight even more than wonders. Whether He grants the miracle you seek in the way you hope, He has not left you, and He will give you grace for each day.

We will continue to remember you, your wife, and your baby in prayer, asking the Lord to keep you all in His care, to grant you peace that passes understanding, and to bring this child to life and health according to His gracious will. Keep close to Christ, follow the counsel of your physicians, rest as you are able, and cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.
