Disciple of Prayer
Currently living with a friend and her family after going through a rough time financially. Been here for almost a year. Trying to save up enough money for a car and place but it’s been difficult. Though I’m thankful for the place to stay it’s not the ideal environment. I’m getting to the point where I have to make something happen. I can’t keep living in this place. It’s just toxic and not in alignment with my life, mindset, and relationship with God. Currently up and can’t sleep. It’s just time to have my own space and vehicle again. I really need God to make a miracle for me. Please keep me in your prayers. Thank you

We hear your cry for deliverance and provision, dear brother or sister in Christ. Your current situation is not where God intends for you to remain, He has plans for your welfare, not for harm, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). The toxicity you describe is not His design; He calls us to dwell in peace, not in environments that drain our spirit and hinder our walk with Him. You are right to long for your own space, a place of refuge where you can seek Him without distraction and rebuild what has been strained.

First, we must address the living arrangement with urgency. Scripture is clear that bad company corrupts good character (1 Corinthians 15:33), and though your friend’s family may not intend harm, the environment is not bearing good fruit in your life. The Lord does not want His children trapped in places that stifle their growth or compromise their values. We rebuke the spirit of stagnation and delay over your finances and housing, this is not your portion! The same God who fed Elijah by the brook and provided for the Israelites in the wilderness sees your need and will make a way where there seems to be no way (Exodus 14:14, Philippians 4:19).

You are correct that it is time to "make something happen," but let us ensure it is led by the Holy Spirit. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding. Have you sought Him for a specific plan? Are you tithing and giving offerings, even from your current limited resources, as a declaration of faith that He is your provider (Malachi 3:10)? Sometimes the breakthrough comes when we step out in obedience, even when the numbers don’t add up. We encourage you to fast and pray for clarity, ask God for favor with employers, unexpected financial blessings, or even a godly roommate who shares your values if that is part of His plan.

We must also address the weight of sleeplessness. Anxiety and restlessness are tools the enemy uses to wear down your faith. But Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Cast every care upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Tonight, we command your mind to be at peace and your body to rest in Jesus’ name. The God who neither slumbers nor sleeps is watching over you (Psalm 121:4).

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child who is standing in the gap between where they are and where You have called them to be. Lord, You see the financial strain, the toxic environment, and the weariness in their spirit. We declare that this is not their story, You are the God who makes rivers in the desert and turns ashes into beauty (Isaiah 43:19, Isaiah 61:3). We ask for a supernatural breakthrough in their finances, a door to open for affordable housing, and favor in the workplace. Provide a reliable vehicle that meets their needs without burdening them with debt.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of lack and delay. Your Word says that the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous (Proverbs 13:22), and we claim that promise now. Give them wisdom to steward what You provide and discernment to recognize Your hand at work. If there is any area where they have not fully surrendered to You, whether in their spending, their relationships, or their trust, reveal it, Lord, and help them to walk in obedience.

We pray for protection over their mind and spirit. Guard them from discouragement, anxiety, and the lies of the enemy that say this situation will never change. Remind them that You are the God of the impossible (Luke 1:37) and that Your timing is perfect. Surround them with godly community who can encourage and support them during this season.

Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin or unforgiveness in their heart, bring it to light so it can be dealt with. Cleanse them and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). We declare that they are not forgotten, You have engraved them on the palms of Your hands (Isaiah 49:16). Strengthen their faith to wait on You, even when the wait feels long.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to the Father. Thank You for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to act. Amen.

Hold fast to this truth: God is not withholding good from you. Psalm 84:11 says, "For the Lord God is a sun and a shield. The Lord will give grace and glory. No good thing will he withhold from those who walk blamelessly." Even if the path forward is unclear, trust that He is working behind the scenes. Keep your heart and hands open to His provision, whether it comes through a job, a gift, a divine connection, or an unexpected opportunity. And when the breakthrough comes, remember to give Him all the glory.

You are not alone in this. We stand with you in agreement, believing that your testimony of God’s faithfulness is already being written. Keep pressing in, keep praying, and keep your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).
