We hear your cry, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. You are not alone in your struggles, and we stand with you in prayer, seeking the Lord’s mercy, restoration, and healing for your weary soul. The feelings of spiritual deadness, despair, and failure you describe are real, but they do not define you, God’s love and faithfulness do. Let us turn to Him together, trusting that He hears the prayers of the brokenhearted and draws near to the crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

First, we must address the weight of feeling forsaken. The enemy would love for you to believe that God has turned His back on you, but Scripture assures us that this is a lie. Even when we walk through the darkest valleys, the Lord is with us (Psalm 23:4). Jesus Himself cried out on the cross, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" (Matthew 27:46), yet in that moment of abandonment, He was accomplishing the greatest act of love the world has ever known, your redemption. If you feel far from God, remember that He is not the one who moved. Draw near to Him, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Confess any known sin, repent, and receive His forgiveness, for He is faithful and just to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Your struggle with online temptation and impurity is not uncommon, but it is a battle that must be fought with the weapons of God. The internet can be a snare, offering fleeting pleasures that lead only to shame and bondage. We rebuke the spirit of lust and addiction in Jesus’ name, and we declare that you are not a slave to sin but a child of God, called to walk in purity (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Flee from these temptations, as Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife (Genesis 39:12), and fill your mind with whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable (Philippians 4:8). Consider installing accountability software, setting boundaries, and seeking godly counsel to help you walk in freedom. The Holy Spirit is your Helper, and He will empower you to overcome if you yield to Him (Galatians 5:16).

You also feel like a mess, as though you have failed God and man. But hear this truth: God does not measure you by your performance or your failures. He measures you by the perfect righteousness of Christ, which has been credited to you by faith (Romans 3:22). Your worth is not found in what you do but in who you are in Him, a beloved child of the Most High God. The apostle Paul, who called himself the "chief of sinners" (1 Timothy 1:15), also declared that nothing could separate him from the love of God (Romans 8:38-39). The same is true for you. Lay down the burden of guilt and shame at the foot of the cross, and receive the grace that is freely given.

Your need for work and provision is also heavy on your heart. We pray that the Lord would open doors of opportunity for you, providing not only for your physical needs but also for your desire to honor Him with your labor (Colossians 3:23). Trust in His promise: "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). Even in the waiting, He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for our brother/sister who is struggling under the weight of spiritual dryness, temptation, despair, and need. Lord, we ask that You would revive their soul, flooding them with the presence of Your Holy Spirit. Breathe new life into their spirit, O God, and let them feel Your nearness in a tangible way. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that whisper of abandonment and failure, and we declare that You are their ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Father, we pray for purity in their life, both in their thoughts and actions. Cleanse them from all unrighteousness and set them free from the snares of temptation. Fill their mind with Your Word and their heart with Your truth. Strengthen them to resist the devil, and let them stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). We ask that You would raise up godly accountability in their life, that they may walk in freedom and holiness.

Lord, we lift up their need for provision. Open doors of opportunity that no man can shut, and provide for their every need according to Your riches in glory. Give them wisdom and favor in their search for work, and let them find joy in serving You through their labor.

Father, we ask that You would lift the heaviness of depression and despair from their heart. Remind them of Your unfailing love, which never ceases, and Your mercies, which are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Let them experience the peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Most of all, Lord, we pray that they would know the depth of Your love for them. Help them to see themselves as You see them, redeemed, forgiven, and deeply cherished. May they find their identity in Christ alone, and may their life bring glory to Your name.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the One who conquered sin and death so that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). Amen.

Dear one, we want to leave you with this encouragement: The Lord is not done with you. Your story is not over, and your best days are not behind you. The same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Lazarus from the dead, and conquered the grave is at work in your life. He specializes in taking what is broken and making it beautiful (Isaiah 61:3). Keep pressing into Him, even when it feels like you’re walking through a desert. His promises are true, and His love for you is unshakable. You are not a failure, you are a work in progress, and God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Hold on to hope, for joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5).

You’ve named so much at once, and we can feel how heavy it all sits on you right now. When the numbness presses in, even reaching for prayer can feel like trying to shout through deep water. The sense of being forsaken, of having failed both God and everyone else, that’s an exhausting, lonely place. And often, when depression digs in like this, it whispers the very things you’re hearing: that you’re cut off, that God has turned away, that there’s no way back. It’s striking how closely those feelings match the weight of the depression itself, not the truth of where you stand.

What you’re describing isn’t a sign you’re beyond hope. Many who love God deeply have walked through stretches where every spiritual sense went dark, where they felt only their failures. That numbness can be part of the depression talking, not a verdict on your faith or your future. God’s presence doesn’t depend on our ability to feel it. When we can’t sense Him, He hasn’t moved.

The need for work adds another layer of weight, practical pressure that grinds you down. While we join you in praying about that, could we also gently encourage one small, concrete step this week? Maybe it’s updating a single section of your resume or reaching out to just one contact. Not the whole mountain. One manageable piece, and ask God to meet you in that small act.

There’s nothing to prove right now, no performance to earn your way back into His care. You are not a failure. You are someone under a heavy load, and we are glad you let some of it out here.

Jesus, in the thick of this darkness and numbness, be present. Lift the weight that tells him he is cut off from You. Provide for the work he needs, and steady him for the small steps. Guard his mind as he navigates what’s online, and bring whatever help or healing this depression requires, whether through a wise counselor, a trusted friend, or simply a break in the clouds. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The soul that feels itself spiritually dead has already begun to know the first quickening touch of the Holy Spirit, for the dead in trespasses know nothing of their own death. It is the Spirit who awakens the mental powers and makes a man feel his ruin, and this very distress of yours is proof that you are not utterly forsaken. The Holy Spirit is the Author of all spiritual life, and until He visits us, we are dead indeed. Cry mightily unto God, for without the Holy Spirit you will utterly fail, but mark this: He is waiting to help you pray, He will tell you how to pray, even when your own heart can only groan and sigh within you.

You speak of feeling forsaken and a mess, a failure before God and man. But consider the condescension of the blessed Spirit, that He should make the heart of His people His continual abode, even a heart that feels like a hovel, all unholy and unclean. He does not dwell there because the house is fit, but because His love elects to come. It is unbelief that grieves Him most, and I charge you now: believe on the Lord Jesus Christ afresh. Look not to your own purity, for no man becomes holy except by the Spirit of Holiness. A holy man is the workmanship of the Holy Spirit alone. Plead with the Holy Spirit to clothe you with His power, and know that He delights to take of the things of Christ and show them unto you. Jesus has left His Cross behind that the Spirit may, by its means, prepare you for Heaven.

The adversary would have you think you are beyond hope, but the Scripture says, “Have ye received the Holy Spirit since ye believed?” This is a question you may answer, for if you have the Holy Spirit, you have God’s seal upon you. And if you grieve Him, confess it and fly again to the fountain opened for sin and uncleanness. The Spirit glorifies Christ, and Christ receives sinners. Your sense of failure is the work of the Spirit to drive you from the strength of nature, from strong resolutions, to the might of God alone. When a man gets the Spirit to fill him, there is a mystic power about it that makes him rise superior to afflictions. Ask, and it shall be given you. Seek no longer the excitement of anything earthly, but ask to be filled with the Spirit, and the beauty of holiness will come upon you.

Praying in the Holy Spirit is the only rubric that matters. Are your prayers a solemn sound upon a thoughtless tongue, or does the Spirit make you feel them in your heart? He is actually willing to help you pray, and your weakness is no barrier, for He helps our infirmities. Adversity, blessed by the Spirit, calls our attention to the promises; promises quicken faith; faith betakes itself to prayer; and God hears and answers. This is the chain of a tried soul’s experience. The Lord, by the Divine Spirit, make this your cry: “Make us glad according to the days wherein thou hast afflicted us.” The Spirit can turn your mourning into a holy delight that is safe and pure, for He makes you to delight in all that is pleasing to God. I bid you not to look within at the mess, but to look up to Christ, and pray the Spirit to show Him to you. May the Lord grant that we may not grieve the Holy Spirit, but be filled with His presence. Cry mightily unto God, for without the Spirit you utterly fail, but with Him, the very gates of Hell shall not prevail against you.

You feel dead and forsaken, but this is the very moment to cry out for the life-giving Spirit. God has not abandoned you; He has kindled His grace like a lamp in your soul. Do not let despair quench that flame. When the Apostle warns, "Quench not the Spirit," he speaks to times like these, when darkness presses in and we feel like a mess. But the love of God is already poured into your heart, not in a trickle but in a flood, and that is your anchor. He did not wait for you to be perfect; He gave the Spirit as a gift before all your struggles. So hope in that mercy, for it does not put us to shame, even when we feel like failures before God and man.

The things you struggle with online, the impurity, the sense of chaos, these are sins that grieve the Holy Spirit. But grief is not divorce; it is a call to turn back. The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus is able to free you from the law of sin and death. He slays sin within us and makes the fight lighter, if we will only lean on His help and not on our own strength. Cry out for that bombardment of the Spirit you mentioned. He blows where He wills, like the wind, and no uncleanness can block Him when He chooses to cleanse. Ask Him to fill you, even in your distress, as the monks pray: "Fill us with the Holy Ghost, that we may be found well-pleasing before Thee."

Your need for work weighs on you, but remember who fed the Israelites in the desert and who gives food to all flesh. He cares for your body as well as your soul. In the same breath that we beg for the Spirit, we ask for daily sufficiency, so that we may abound in every good work. Trust Him for that provision, and do not interpret your unemployment as His forsaking. He often withholds outward things to draw us closer to Himself, to make us true worshipers who serve in spirit, not bound by place or circumstance.

As for the depression and the feeling of failure, do not let it swallow you. You have not failed beyond remedy. The disciples themselves were scattered and confused, but after Christ gave commandments through the Spirit, they were lifted up. The very fact that you feel dead shows there is life fighting to break through. A corpse does not weep. So fan that spark into flame by prayer, by tears, by turning away from the screen that tempts you. I join my prayers with yours, that the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, would sweep through your heart, restore your purity, lift the heaviness, and make you know again that you are not forsaken, but beloved. Stand fast, and do not let the night overcome you. The lamp is lit; it is for you to feed it with hope and repentance.
