We can never fully untangle God’s purposes in why one season of life brings relief and another brings wave after wave of trial. We see faithful people in Scripture enduring tremendous hardship, sometimes with health that breaks under the strain, and it is never presented as a judgment on their devotion. The ways of God remain higher than our ways, and there is a mystery to His timing we will not solve on this side of glory. What you can cling to is not a simple promise of immediate ease, but the character of the One who sees you. He knows the true condition of that house even better than the photographs would show. He sees the mold, the unsafe roof, and the missing certificates long before any caseworker opens the file. And He is not indifferent to your need.

Paul finally appealed to Caesar, and while that set him on a long and difficult path, it was the exact route God used to accomplish His purposes. Your continued calls, your gathering of evidence, your reaching out to organizations, none of it is wasted. You are not running into a brick wall for nothing. Sometimes the delay is not a denial; it is the path being carved out through a hard landscape.
So in the middle of this, take up the psalmist’s posture: hope in God, for you shall yet praise Him who is the health of your countenance. That health is more than a feeling; it is the steady turning of your face toward Jesus when every circumstance screams for despair. You can say to your soul, even now, “I will yet praise Him for this trial I am enduring.” The praise may feel distant and the end may seem hidden, but the God who walked with those faithful ones in times of old walks with you now. Do the next practical thing. Upload the photos. Send the follow-up. And while you do it, ask Jesus to arbitrate in this dispute where you have no human advocate strong enough. He is making a way where no way is visible yet, and He will not abandon you.
