Beloved of All
Dear everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I would be so grateful if you could please pray for me. I have an important review of my disability benefits by phone on Tuesday, and I have been feeling very anxious about it. Earlier this year, our home was flooded, and my housemate and I are still living in temporary accommodation. Unfortunately, the insurance funding for our temporary accommodation is due to end at the end of this month, and at the moment we have nowhere else to go because our home is still not yet habitable. We have a meeting with the local council soon to ask for help with housing, and our Member of Parliament has kindly contacted us and is arranging an appointment to see if he can help with our situation as well. Please pray that my disability benefits are not reduced or taken away, that the review is fair, and that the people making decisions will understand my circumstances. Please also pray that God provides a safe place for us to live and guides the council, the Member of Parliament, and everyone involved in our case with wisdom, compassion and favour. Please also pray that God gives me peace, strength and the right words to answer every question calmly and honestly. Thank you all so much for your prayers. They mean more to us than I can say. Jesus Christ we need your help urgently I can’t afford to have anything reduced at the moment is the worse time for this benefits review that could ever happen. God bless,

We lift you up before the throne of grace, dear brother or sister in Christ, knowing that our Heavenly Father sees your struggles and hears your cries. Your situation is heavy, and we stand with you in prayer, trusting that God will move on your behalf.

First, we rebuke the spirit of anxiety that seeks to overwhelm you. The Lord tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We pray that His peace, which transcends all understanding, will guard your heart and mind as you prepare for this review. May you rest in the assurance that He is your provider and sustainer, even in the midst of uncertainty.

We also pray for the individuals conducting your disability benefits review. Father, we ask that You grant them wisdom, compassion, and discernment as they assess your case. Let them see the full picture of your needs and the challenges you are facing. Proverbs 21:1 reminds us, "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires." We ask that You turn their hearts toward justice and mercy, ensuring that your benefits are not unjustly reduced or taken away. May they recognize the urgency of your circumstances and respond with fairness.

Lord, we also bring before You the pressing need for stable housing. Your Word declares in Psalm 68:6, "God sets the solitary in families. He brings out the prisoners with singing, but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land." You are the God who provides refuge and shelter for Your children. We ask that You open doors for safe and suitable housing for you and your housemate. Guide the hearts of those at the local council and your Member of Parliament, filling them with compassion and a desire to act swiftly on your behalf. Let them see your situation not as a burden, but as an opportunity to extend Your love and care to those in need.

We pray for strength and clarity as you prepare for these meetings. May the Holy Spirit fill you with the right words to speak, as Jesus promised in Luke 12:11-12, "When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, don’t be anxious how or what you will answer, or what you will say; for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that same hour what you must say." Father, we ask that You grant our brother/sister confidence and calmness, knowing that You are with them every step of the way.

Finally, we declare that God is your Jehovah Jireh, your provider. In this season of waiting and uncertainty, may you experience His faithfulness in tangible ways. We stand on His promise in Matthew 6:31-33, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." We pray that as you seek Him first, He will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this dear one to You, trusting that You are working all things together for their good. May they feel Your presence and peace in the midst of this storm. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them see Your hand moving on their behalf. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can come to You and the only name by which we are saved. Amen.

We hear the heavy weight of all this hitting at once, and especially the knot in your stomach as the phone review approaches. It makes deep sense that you feel anxious: your benefits, your housing, so many things you depend on are hanging in the balance. We won’t pretend that’s easy.

One thing that can help before Tuesday is to sit down with a pen and paper and write out the main points you want the assessor to understand, what your days really look like, the ways your condition limits you, and how the flooding turned everything upside down. Just having those notes in front of you can steady your mind and keep you focused. If there’s a trusted friend or your housemate who can sit with you during the call, even silently, that quiet presence can be a real anchor.

When so many pressures land at once, the anxiety itself can be exhausting. We’re not surprised you feel overwhelmed. We simply want you to know that you don’t carry this alone, we’re holding you up in prayer and asking God to give you a calm, clear voice and the exact words you need.

Lord Jesus, you see how much is riding on this review and the meetings ahead. Please settle this person’s heart during the call; help them speak honestly and hear fairly. We ask for decision-makers who truly listen and grasp the full picture, and for a clear path to stable housing. In the middle of all the uncertainty, be their peace and their shelter. Amen.

You have been visited by a flood, and now a flood of anxiety threatens your soul. But hearken to the word of our Lord: “Do not be anxious about your temporal affairs.” Be not so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry, fretfulness, and distress. Have you not yet found that such anxiety unfits you to meet the very difficulty you dread? It brings no grist to the mill, no meal to the barrel. The restless care that arises from your trouble will not steady your voice before the assessors, nor will it put wisdom into the hearts of council or Member of Parliament. It is a wearisome, profitless thing.

Think on the flood in Noah’s day: it swept them all away, the rich man with his hoards, the beggar with his rags, the philosopher with his learning, the scoffer with his jests. The flood cared nothing for their distinctions. The very deluge that ruined your habitation is but a faint picture of how swiftly the things of this life are carried off. Temporary accommodation, insurance funds, the security of a settled house, these may vanish as the morning mist. Yet, for the child of God, there is an ark that rides above the waves. The blood of Jesus Christ, the blood that speaketh better things than that of Abel, is your eternal refuge. When Abel’s blood cried from the ground a bitter accusation, the blood of the covenant cries, “Deliver them from going down into the pit!” Sinner and saint alike may plunge beneath that crimson flood and find all their guilty stains and all their earthly fears lost. There is a fountain filled with blood, drawn from Immanuel’s veins, and you, even in this hour of pressing need, may sing of it with firm hope.

Your anxious inquiry about the review, the housing, the fleeting help of men, raise your eyes from these wounds and ask if the Physician’s skill can heal. The remedy is at hand. The right words for your interview will be given when you lean not on your own understanding. The council, the MP, the decision-makers are all in the hand of Him who measured the waters in the hollow of His hand. He can turn their hearts, for they are but channels of His providence. Be prudent, as our Saviour’s precept allows, but be not fearful. The flood of judgment that swept away the ancient world swept away all their sarcasms and jeers, but it could not touch the one who found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Go to that phone meeting as one who has no enduring city here, yet seeks one to come. Let your peace be that which the world cannot give, and let your honest answers flow from a heart stayed on God. He who feeds the ravens and clothes the lilies will not reduce His mercies toward you unless He has a better portion in store. The flood may have taken your home, but it cannot take your Saviour. Cast your care upon Him, for He careth for you.

“Sinners, plunged beneath that flood,
Lose all their guilty stains.”
Lose, too, your guilty distrust and your lonely fretting, for the same precious blood has purchased every needed grace. Christ’s help is never too late; His treasury is never exhausted. Hold fast to this: though the flood come and sweep much away, the Rock of Ages stands, and you are hidden there.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The anxiety gripping your heart is not unlike the storm that once terrified the disciples. The Master sleeps in the boat, not from indifference to the drowning waves, but to occasion your timidity and to make your perception of what is happening more distinct. For a man looks not with the same eyes on what happens in the persons of others as in his own. He permits this storm of a benefits review and a flooded home, so that through your deliverance you might attain to a clearer perception of His benefit and strength.

In this present life, which is truly a sleep filled with things no different from dreams, your soul is crying out for the one urgent consideration: the preservation of the seed sown. When you ask me to pray for your peace and for the right words, examine well what provision you are making. To prepare for the body’s need from disability benefits is not to fulfill its lusts. You are not making provision to be wanton or to kindle desire, but for the very health and shelter of your frame. For He does bid make provision for it, as Paul counseled Timothy to use a little wine for his stomach's sake. To seek a roof is a necessary care. But to let this anxious flame, this powerful furnace of fear over a possible reduction, consume you is to light up a fire beyond health. Do everything to speak calmly and honestly, but prune away the desperate thought that you cannot afford anything to be reduced, for that is to live as one who trusts only in the waking dream of a certain income.

I see your haste and your urgency, and I know it shows your affection and your looking to one thing only: the preservation of your life and home. These feelings are not said without a cause. Yet recall that when the disciples attempted to hinder a necessary going, the Lord made clear what the true state of the matter was. His delay was not an urgent reason for inaction, but the very ground of a greater work. Spend, therefore, the chiefest industry of your soul not on the terror of losing temporary accommodation, but on the care of spiritual things. For it is not the majesty of God’s power discoursed upon, but the remembrance of our chiefest benefit that comforts a trembling heart. He who stretched out the heaven and kindled the sun for your sake, who set the seasons in their courses, will not be indifferent now. The Hand that moves all things to make provision for our life, not for our need only but for our feeling of high station, is unwearied. Rouse yourself from this sleep with that one thought.

When the waves of anxiety crash over you and tomorrow feels uncertain, remember this bedrock truth: God is absolutely fair. His judgments are righteous, and His ways are just. The thought may rush in, "Is this review fair? Will they truly see my situation?" It is not wrong to long for fairness; Abraham himself looked into the face of almighty God and asked, "Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?" Your desire for a fair hearing, for compassion on your circumstances, echoes that cry. And the God who heard Abraham hears you. He knows your need. The God who made provision for the lamb's blood on the doorpost so the destroyer would pass over is the same God who sees your home, your health, and your housemate. He has not abandoned His throne. You can rest in this: whatever He allows, and whatever decision these officials make, will not escape the bounds of His perfect justice and His tender care for you.

You asked for peace, strength, and the right words. Those are the very things He delights to provide. Think of the beautiful picture in Scripture where the bridegroom looks at his bride and says, "Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee." That is how Christ sees you right now, not because of your spotless performance, but because His love has covered you and made you His own. You are fair in His eyes, precious and honored. As you sit down for that phone call, you are not facing a panel of strangers alone. You are seated with Christ in heavenly places, with all the spiritual benefits He has given you. His resources for your spiritual and physical needs are amply supplied. Lean into that. The anxiety you feel is a territory He is promising to conquer in your life, little by little. He won't drive out every fear in a single day, but He will give you the victory as you trust Him step by step. Ask Him for a calm spirit that flows from knowing you are loved supremely, and for words that drip with the quiet confidence of someone held by a faithful God.

Your future feels as fragile as temporary housing with an end date and no clear next address. But remember how God often works. Under the old law, when a leper was examined, God made a provision for him to work a miracle. It was as if the law itself said, "If I desire to heal, here is the path for the cleansing." That is the God we serve, He left room for His own unexpected provision. The insurance funding may be ending, and the house may still be uninhabitable, but God is not boxed in by those deadlines. He can stir the heart of the council member. He can give your Member of Parliament a wisdom beyond themselves. He can open a door that no one saw coming. It may not look like your ideal plan, and it may not come in the way you expect, but He has not forgotten you. Pray for those in authority, as you are doing, and then watch for His provision. Sometimes it arrives at the very last moment, just to remind us it was never our own striving but His hand.

Do not let the enemy plant the lie that God has forgotten to be fair or that He is holding back something good from you. That whisper started in the garden and it has not changed its tune. When your thoughts race, anchor them in what you know. Jesus Christ, who shed His blood for you, will not waste this suffering. He sees the worse timing, the poverty, the fragile state of your life, and He steps into it with a mercy that is both just and kind. Lift your head, even now. The Lord is your strength. He will give you the right words. He will be your refuge as you wait. May His peace stand guard over your heart, and may you soon see His faithful provision unfolding before your eyes.
