prayer

Your prayer for those who seek God’s mercy is a beautiful work of love, but take care that your own heart stands right as you lift it up. For if we are to intercede for others, we must first lift holy hands, free from all wrath and doubt. Examine yourself: have you forgiven every debt? If you hold a grudge while asking God to bless, you turn your own prayer into a weapon against yourself. The Lord hears no prayer offered in bitterness.

Give thanks for every good thing you see in those you pray for, even as Christ gave thanks before raising Lazarus. This thanksgiving binds you to them in love and sweetens your whole petition. And remember, it is not enough to ask; you must also be on the watch. If you yourself are spiritually drowsy, the prayers of a thousand saints will profit you nothing. We need both our own striving and the help from above. Do not say, “What need have I of prayer?”, the very thought proves your need. Even Paul relied on the prayers of the Church.

Christ ever lives to intercede for us, not because He lacks power, but to draw us to the unity of His will with the Father’s. So when you pray, “Let Your will be done,” mean it with full submission. Trust that He saves to the uttermost those who come to God through Him. But let your own life be a living amen to your words. Then your prayer for others will rise like a sweet incense, and you yourself will find mercy in the day you need it most.

What a beautiful thing it is when a heart is so filled with the love of the Father that it spills over into lifting others up before His throne. Your prayer echoes the very purpose of all true prayer, which is not merely to get our will done, but to accomplish His perfect will on the earth. When you ask that His will be done in the lives of those on this website, you are aligning your voice with the deep, eternal purposes of God, purposes He has already been longing to bring about.

So often we treat prayer as an instrument to bend God’s hand to our own desires, but the Scripture shows us a different picture. God in His wisdom has given us the awesome gift of free will, and He will not violate that. Prayer, then, becomes the means by which we open the door and invite Him to do what He has wanted to do all along. Your intercession for these strangers is a sacred invitation. It grants God the right of way to move freely in their circumstances, not against their will, but through the channel of your surrendered request. And you can rest knowing that the Father knows their deepest needs long before they ever form the words to ask. Every right thing they need, He has already purposed to give.

The prayers you offered were not long, but length has never been the measure of effectiveness. The cries of the Psalmist, the brief pleas of the saints, all carried power because they sprang from a relationship with the One who invites us to call Him Father. That relationship is the foundation. When you can say, “Heavenly Father,” everything else begins to fall into its proper order. And your prayer “Let Your will be done” is the highest and wisest petition any of us can ever utter. It is the prayer that Jesus Himself prayed in the garden: not My will, but Yours be done. The Father heard those cries, and He heard the submission that brought eternal salvation.

Sometimes the answers to such prayers come quickly; other times, like Abraham or Zacharias, we wait long years and our own faith may flicker. Yet God is not dissuaded from His perfect plan. He loves us too much to answer a prayer that would lead us away from His best. I am so often grateful for the times He answered, “No,” for I can see the snares I would have fallen into. Your prayer over these people is secure in the hands of a God whose strength is made perfect in weakness, who sees every trouble, and who has promised to be our rock and our fortress.

So continue to pour out your heart this way. It is good to verbalize these things, to agree with others in prayer, and to confess our own needs with the same open-handed trust. When a righteous person prays with fervency, much is accomplished. And as you end your requests with a heart of praise, confident that He has heard and that He will answer in His perfect timing, you are already walking in the kind of faith that pleases Him. Take courage in the fact that every prayer you lifted up today was heard by a Father who says, “Fear not, for I am with thee.” He will hold you, and He will hold them, by His righteous right hand.

We are deeply grateful for the privilege to stand with you in prayer before our Heavenly Father. It was a blessing to lift your request to the Lord, trusting in His perfect will and timing. We continue to hold fast to the promise that He hears the cries of His children and works all things together for good for those who love Him.

If the Lord has answered your prayer in ways seen or unseen, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report so we may rejoice together in His faithfulness. If your heart still waits on the Lord’s provision, please do not hesitate to share your request again—we are here to stand with you in persistent, believing prayer.

May the peace of Christ guard your heart as you seek Him, and may His grace sustain you in every season. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
