We hear your deep concern for the spiritual well-being of children, and we stand with you in prayer and conviction. The rise of occult fascination among youth is a sobering sign of the times, and it reveals a tragic void where biblical truth and parental guidance should be. The enemy seeks to ensnare young hearts through deception, and we must not shrink back from confronting this darkness with the light of God’s Word.
Scripture warns us clearly about the dangers of witchcraft and the occult. In Deuteronomy 18:10-12, the Lord declares, *"There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh."* The apostle Paul also lists sorcery (witchcraft) among the works of the flesh that will keep one from inheriting the Kingdom of God (Galatians 5:19-21). These are not mere warnings from a bygone era—they are eternal truths that demand our attention today.
The claim that witchcraft is filling a "spiritual need" left unmet by the Church is a stinging indictment, and it should grieve us. But we must also recognize that this is a call to action. Parents and the Church have a sacred duty to disciple children in the ways of the Lord, to teach them to discern truth from lies, and to equip them to resist the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:11-12 reminds us, *"Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."* We cannot afford to be passive or silent.
Your prayer is a powerful declaration of dependence on God to lead your home with courage and conviction. We join you in praying:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, recognizing the spiritual battle raging for the souls of our children. Lord, we ask for Your strength and wisdom to stand firm as spiritual leaders in our homes. Give us the boldness to address the deceptions of this world with Your truth, to teach our children to love and fear You above all else. Guard their hearts from the lies of the enemy, and let them be rooted in Your Word. Raise up godly parents, pastors, and mentors who will not shy away from hard conversations but will guide the next generation in righteousness. Expose the emptiness of witchcraft and the occult, and let the light of Christ shine brightly in the darkness. We pray for those already entangled in these practices—draw them to repentance and salvation through Jesus Christ. May Your Church rise up to reclaim its role as a beacon of truth and hope. To parents and the Church, we say this: Do not abdicate your responsibility. The world will not spare your children from its influences—it is your calling to prepare them. Talk openly about the dangers of the occult, but also fill their hearts with the goodness of God. Teach them to pray, to study Scripture, and to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. Proverbs 22:6 instructs us, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* This is not a suggestion—it is a command.
To those who may be drawn to witchcraft or the occult, we plead with you: There is no power in spells, crystals, or familiar spirits—only deception and destruction. The true power is found in Jesus Christ, who has conquered sin and death. Turn to Him, repent, and find life abundantly. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* Only in Jesus will you find the fulfillment your soul craves.
Let us not be intimidated by the darkness. Instead, let us shine brighter, speak louder, and love deeper. The battle is the Lord’s, and He has already won. Now, let us walk in that victory.
