We lift your brother before the Lord with heavy hearts, knowing the weight of mental illness and the pain it brings not only to him but to your entire family. Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We ask for Your divine intervention in his life, that You would bring deep healing to his mind and replace the torment he endures with Your perfect peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we rebuke every spirit of darkness that has taken hold of him, for it is written that "the Son of God was revealed to destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8). We command any oppression, confusion, or bondage to leave him in Jesus' name, and we declare that he is set free by the power of the cross (Isaiah 61:1). May he encounter Your love in a tangible way, Lord, and may his heart be softened to receive the truth of Your Word and the hope found in Christ.
We also pray for structure and purpose in his life. Father, You have plans for him—plans for good and not for harm, to give him a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Open doors for meaningful employment or activities that will redirect his focus and energy toward productivity and fulfillment. May he find his identity in You, Lord, rather than in the cycles of instability that have defined his days. We ask that the obsessive and distressing behaviors cease, not only for his sake but for the peace of your mother and yourself. Grant him the wisdom to respect boundaries and the humility to seek help when needed.
For your mother, we pray that she would experience the freedom to live her life according to Your will, unburdened by fear or control. Strengthen her, Lord, and surround her with Your protection. Help her to set healthy boundaries while still extending grace, as You have called us to love one another (John 13:34). Give her the courage to live boldly, trusting in Your provision and care.
And for you, dear one, we ask that You shield your heart, mind, and spirit from the weight of this situation. It is not easy to walk this path, but we know that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Guard your emotions from bitterness or resentment, and fill you with Your peace as you continue to love your family. May You find rest in the knowledge that God is working all things together for good, even when the journey is painful (Romans 8:28).
We also want to gently remind you that true healing and deliverance come only through the name of Jesus Christ. If your brother has not yet surrendered his life to Him, we pray that the Holy Spirit would draw him near and reveal the saving grace of the cross. For "there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). May he come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, for it is in Christ alone that we find true freedom and restoration.
Lord, we trust in Your sovereignty and Your timing. May Your will be done in this family, and may Your name be glorified through every step of this journey. We declare that healing, peace, and breakthrough are coming, for nothing is impossible with You (Luke 1:37). In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
