Beloved of All
Please pray for my dear friend and housemate ###. He recently told me he’s thinking about moving out to focus on dating and hopefully finding a partner. While I understand the idea on some level, it’s also hard for me to fully relate — especially given that he struggles with serious mental health issues, which often make relationships and independence quite challenging for him. This has left me feeling anxious and uncertain, as I don’t currently have the financial or practical means to move out on my own. Please pray that the Lord will give ### wisdom, clarity, and peace in his decisions, and protect him from false expectations or pressure. I also ask that God would open a clear path for me — whether that’s staying where I am, or finding a new place through His provision. May God keep our friendship strong, and may His love and guidance lead us both in the right direction. In Jesus’ name, amen.

We lift up this situation before the Lord, knowing that He is the God of all wisdom, provision, and peace. First, we commend you for bringing this request in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and receive answers to our prayers. *"Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me’* (John 14:6, WEB). We also recognize the care and concern you have for your friend, and we pray that God would honor your faithfulness in interceding for him.

We do want to address something important regarding the language used in this request. The Bible does not support the idea of "finding a partner" in the way the world often frames it—casual, undefined, or outside of God’s design for marriage. Instead, Scripture calls believers to pursue *courtship with the intent of marriage*, and only between a man and a woman who are both committed followers of Christ. *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14, WEB). If your friend is seeking a relationship, we pray he would seek a *godly spouse*—not just a partner—and that he would do so in a way that honors the Lord, avoiding the pitfalls of emotional or physical intimacy outside of marriage. Fornication is a sin that grieves the Holy Spirit, and we must flee from it (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). If this is a struggle for him, we pray for repentance and a heart that seeks purity, knowing that God’s ways are for our good.

We also notice that your friend battles mental health challenges, and we know the enemy would love to use this season of transition to bring confusion, fear, or despair. But we declare that *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble"* (Psalm 46:1, WEB). We pray that the Lord would surround your friend with His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guarding his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). May the Lord grant him wisdom to seek godly counsel—whether from mature believers, a pastor, or a biblical counselor—before making any major decisions. Moving out solely to pursue dating could be unwise if his mental health is fragile, and we ask the Lord to make His will clear, whether that means staying where he is for now or moving forward with godly support in place.

For you, dear sibling in Christ, we recognize the anxiety this situation has stirred—both the potential loss of a friend’s presence and the uncertainty of your own living situation. But we remind you that *"all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose"* (Romans 8:28, WEB). The Lord sees your needs, and He is not caught off guard by this season. We pray that He would provide for you miraculously, whether by making a way for you to stay in your current home, opening doors to new housing that aligns with His will, or even bringing a godly roommate into your life if that is His plan. *"Seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33, WEB). Trust that He is your Provider (Jehovah Jireh), and He will not abandon you.

We also pray for your friendship with your housemate. Transition can strain even the strongest bonds, but we ask the Lord to preserve what is godly and pure in your relationship. May your interactions be seasoned with grace, and may you both speak truth in love (Ephesians 4:15). If this season requires boundaries or difficult conversations, we pray the Holy Spirit would give you the words to say and the humility to receive wisdom from others.

Lastly, we rebuke any spirit of fear or uncertainty trying to take root in either of your hearts. *"For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control"* (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). The enemy wants to magnify the "what-ifs," but we declare that the Lord is sovereign over every detail. He is not surprised by this situation, and He will use it for His glory and your good.

**Let us pray together:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this friend and their housemate. Lord, You know the depths of their hearts—the desires, the fears, the uncertainties—and we ask that You would meet them both in this season. For our brother considering a move, we pray You would give him *divine wisdom* that surpasses his own understanding. Guard his heart from rushing into decisions driven by loneliness, cultural pressure, or ungodly desires. If it is Your will for him to seek a spouse, we ask that You would prepare a *godly wife* for him—a woman who loves You wholeheartedly and would walk beside him in faith. But we also pray that You would heal and stabilize his mind, Lord. Mental health struggles are not a barrier to Your power, and we ask that You would surround him with the right support, medication if needed, and believers who can speak life into him. If moving is not Your timing, make that abundantly clear, and give him peace to remain where he is.

For our sibling facing financial and practical uncertainty, we declare Your provision over their life. You own the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and You will not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). Open doors no one can shut, Lord—whether that means providing the means to stay, a new place to live, or even a godly community to surround them. Remove the anxiety that threatens to overwhelm, and replace it with *unshakable trust* in Your goodness.

Preserve their friendship, Lord. May it be a testament to Your love and faithfulness, even in change. Give them both the grace to communicate with kindness and honesty, and may their bond reflect the unity of the Spirit.

We rebuke fear, confusion, and haste in Jesus’ name. Let Your peace, which transcends all understanding, rule in their hearts. Guide their steps, Lord, and let Your will be done in both of their lives. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our Savior and King. Amen.
