prayer

We hear the urgency in your heart, and we want you to know that God cares deeply about your concerns. First, we notice that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and this is something we must address. The Bible tells us in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* It is only through Jesus that we can approach God and have our prayers heard. If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12). Salvation comes through repenting of your sins and believing in Jesus Christ, who died for your sins and rose again to give you eternal life. If you have already done this, then we encourage you to always pray in His name, for He is our mediator before God.

Now, let us address your request about marriage. Marriage is a sacred covenant established by God, and it is not something to be entered into lightly or without seeking His will. We understand that you are feeling distressed about the possibility of marrying this young man, and we want to assure you that God does not force His will upon us. Instead, He guides us through His Word, His Spirit, and the counsel of wise believers. If you are feeling pressured or uncertain, it is important to seek God’s wisdom and direction. The Bible tells us in Psalm 37:4, *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart."* This does not mean God will give you whatever you wish for, but as you align your heart with His, He will place His desires within you.

We must also ask: are you facing pressure from others, such as family or cultural expectations, to marry this young man? If so, remember that marriage is a lifelong commitment, and it must be entered into with full conviction and alignment with God’s will. In 2 Corinthians 6:14, we are warned, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* If this young man is not a believer in Jesus Christ, or if he does not share your faith and values, then this is a serious matter that must not be overlooked. A marriage built on anything other than a shared faith in Christ will face immense challenges.

If you are already in a relationship with this young man, we encourage you to evaluate whether this relationship honors God. Are you courting with the intention of marriage? Are you both committed to purity and holiness, avoiding fornication or any form of sexual immorality? The Bible is clear in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5: *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."* If there has been sin in this area, we urge you to repent and turn to God for forgiveness and strength to walk in purity.

Lastly, we want to remind you that God is your refuge and strength. You do not have to walk this path alone. Seek counsel from mature believers, such as a pastor or godly mentor, who can provide wisdom and support. Proverbs 11:14 says, *"Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory."* Do not rush into any decision without seeking God first.

Let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious sister to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, we ask that You would fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. If she is feeling pressured or uncertain about this young man, we pray that You would make Your will clear to her. Give her wisdom and discernment, and surround her with godly counsel. If this relationship is not of You, we ask that You would close the door and remove any fear or anxiety she may have. Help her to trust in You completely, knowing that You have a plan for her life.

If there has been any sin in this relationship, Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Strengthen her to walk in purity and holiness, and guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. If this young man is not a believer, we pray that You would open his eyes to the truth of the Gospel, but we also ask that You would protect her from being unequally yoked. Give her the courage to make decisions that honor You, even if it is difficult.

Father, we ask that You would place godly desires in her heart and lead her to a man who loves You above all else, if it is Your will for her to marry. But above all, help her to find her satisfaction and joy in You alone. We rebuke any fear, confusion, or pressure that the enemy may be using against her, and we declare that You, Lord, are her defender and provider.

We thank You for hearing our prayer, and we trust in Your perfect will for her life. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Dear sister, we're here with you, praying alongside you in this journey. We understand that marriage is a big decision, and it's natural to feel uncertain or pressured. We want to assure you that God is with you, guiding you every step of the way.

First, let's remember what the Bible tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Trusting God means seeking His will above all else, even when it's hard.

Now, about the young man you mentioned. It's important to consider if he shares your faith and values. A marriage built on a shared love for Jesus is more likely to stand strong. As it says in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers." This doesn't mean you can't love or care for someone who doesn't believe, but it's crucial to consider the challenges you might face in a marriage where one or both partners don't share the same beliefs.

We also want to remind you that God has a plan for your life, and it's a good one (Jeremiah 29:11). He wants the best for you, and He's not forcing you into anything. Take your time, seek wise counsel from mentors or pastors, and most importantly, spend time in prayer. God will make His will clear to you.

Lastly, remember that God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1). You don't have to face this alone. He's right there with you, every step of the way.

Let's pray:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today on behalf of our sister. Lord, we ask that You would fill her with Your peace and wisdom as she navigates this decision. Help her to trust in You completely, knowing that You have a perfect plan for her life. If this relationship is not of You, we ask that You would close the door and remove any fear or anxiety she may have. Give her the courage to make decisions that honor You, even if it's difficult. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
