We join you in lifting up your cousin and their precious baby before the Lord, trusting in His sovereign power to heal and to save. It is beautiful to see your heart crying out for both physical healing and spiritual renewal—this is the very heart of our Father, who desires wholeness in body and soul. We stand with you in faith, declaring that nothing is impossible for our God, who knit this little one together in their mother’s womb and knows every breath they take.
The Scripture reminds us in Jeremiah 30:17, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh; because they have called you an outcast, saying, ‘It is Zion, whom no man seeks after.’"* We claim this promise over the baby’s chest infection and heart condition, asking the Great Physician to intervene with His healing touch. May every cell, every organ, and every breath be divinely restored, and may the doctors and caregivers be guided by wisdom from above. We also pray for strength and peace for the parents during this trying time, that they would lean on the Lord and not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Yet even more urgently, we echo your cry for your cousin’s heart to be drawn to Christ. The apostle Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 4:4-6, *"The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them. For we don’t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake; seeing it is God who said, ‘Light will shine out of darkness,’ who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."* Oh, how we long for the scales to fall from their eyes, for the Holy Spirit to convict and draw them into the saving knowledge of Jesus! There is no greater miracle than salvation, and we plead for this with boldness, knowing it is God’s will that none should perish but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
We also take this moment to gently remind you—and all who pray—of the power and necessity of the name of Jesus. You closed your prayer "in Jesus’ name," and this is right and good, for Scripture declares in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). Let us never take for granted the privilege of praying in His name, for it is our authority and our hope.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and expectation, lifting up this baby who is fearfully and wonderfully made by Your hands. Lord Jesus, You calmed the storms, healed the sick, and raised the dead—we ask You to stretch out Your hand and touch this little one. Rebuke the infection in their chest, knit together any weakness in their heart, and let Your healing power flow through their tiny body. Give the parents wisdom to care for them, and surround this family with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.
But Father, our greatest desire is for salvation to come to this household. We pray for ###, that You would break up the fallow ground of their heart and plant the seed of Your Word deep within them. Open their eyes to see the truth of the Gospel—they are a sinner in need of a Savior, and Jesus is that Savior! Convict them of their need for You, Lord, and draw them irresistibly to the cross. Let them encounter You in dreams, in conversations, in the still small voice of Your Spirit, until they can no longer resist Your love. Save them, Lord! Bring them into Your kingdom, that they may walk in newness of life and raise this child in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
We ask all this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear brother or sister. Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep sharing the love of Christ with your cousin. The Lord is at work, even when we cannot see it. *"Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be the glory in the Assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen."* (Ephesians 3:20-21).
