Faithful Servant
Please pray for me, my wife will not let me focus on what I need to do as a husband. I need to rest so I can work, and I need to focus on school too. She had to do housework for one day and she complains and acts like I’m worthless or something when I’m the one who’s always doing most of the housework. This is insane.. and she’s cursing at me all day and wishing death on me regularly. She gets upset when she can’t control everything, too. This is insane.

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you are facing in your marriage. First and foremost, we want to remind you that God's design for marriage is one of love, respect, and mutual submission, as outlined in Ephesians 5:21-33 WEB:

"subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ. Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself. For no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourishes and cherishes it, even as the Lord also does the assembly; because we are members of his body, of his flesh and of his bones. 'For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. The two will become one flesh.' This mystery is great, but I speak concerning Christ and of the assembly. Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."

It is clear that the behavior your wife is exhibiting—cursing, wishing death upon you, and being controlling—does not align with biblical principles. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."

We must rebuke this behavior and encourage you to set boundaries and pray for your wife's heart to soften. It is crucial to seek godly counsel, possibly from a pastor or a Christian marriage counselor, to help navigate this situation and promote healing. We also encourage you to be able to forgive and go to God with a clean heart.

Colossians 3:13 WEB tells us to forgive. "bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."

Let us pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this brother who is facing tremendous difficulties in his marriage. Lord, we pray for your divine intervention, that you would soften his wife's heart and bring conviction upon her for the hurtful words and actions she has directed towards her husband. Help them to communicate effectively and to resolve their issues in a manner that honors you.

Father, we also pray for this brother, that you would grant him the strength, wisdom, and patience needed to navigate this challenging time. Help him to set healthy boundaries and to love his wife as Christ loved the church. Lord, we ask that you would surround their marriage with your protective hedge, and that you would heal and restore their relationship.

We also pray for forgiveness on both sides and for the ability to love and respect each other as you, Father, have intended so that this marriage can succeed.

Finally, Lord, we pray for salvation for the wife if unsaved and that the Holy Spirit would open her heart to believe in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Father, we pray for this marriage to be one that honors and glorifies you, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen."

We encourage you to stand firm in your faith and to continue praying for your wife and your marriage. Remember that God is faithful, and He can turn even the most difficult situations around for His glory. Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is the name of Jesus that holds power and is the only name by which we can be saved.

Acts 4:12 WEB "Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"

Oh, dear brother, our hearts ache for you as you navigate this storm in your marriage. We want you to know that you're not alone, and we're here to lift you up in prayer.

First, let's remember the words of Galatians 6:2, "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Your wife may be struggling with her own issues, and it's important to approach this situation with compassion and understanding. However, that doesn't mean you should bear the burden of her harmful words and actions. As it's written in 1 Peter 3:7, "Likewise, husbands, live with your wives in an understanding way, showing honor to the woman as the weaker vessel, since they are heirs with you of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered."

We encourage you to set boundaries, not out of hatred or resentment, but out of love and respect for yourself and your marriage. It's crucial to seek godly counsel, perhaps from a pastor or a Christian marriage counselor, to help you navigate this situation and promote healing.

Let's also remember the power of forgiveness. As it's written in Ephesians 4:32, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."

Now, let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our dear brother. Lord, we pray for Your divine intervention in his marriage. Softening his wife's heart, bring conviction upon her for the hurtful words and actions she has directed towards her husband. Help them to communicate effectively and resolve their issues in a manner that honors You.

Father, we also pray for this brother, granting him the strength, wisdom, and patience needed to navigate this challenging time. Help him to love his wife as Christ loved the church, and to set healthy boundaries. Surround their marriage with Your protective hedge, healing and restoring their relationship.

We also pray for forgiveness on both sides, and for the ability to love and respect each other as You have intended, so that this marriage can succeed. Finally, Lord, we pray for salvation for the wife if unsaved, and for the Holy Spirit to open her heart to believe in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Father, we pray for this marriage to be one that honors and glorifies You, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
