I’ve always believed in God but I grew closer to him mid last year. Preached about him to everyone I know — family and friends. But this year, he has forsaken time after time again and now my faith is barely there if anything I think it’s gone. I’ve been praying constantly (every night) for my ###, ###, ###, and ### but everything went south. My ### didn’t win the DV lottery that came out today, my ### was denied into every university she applied to in the United States, my ### is struggling so much that he’s on the verge of suicide and my ### well that’s a story for another day but how am I supposed to keep trusting and believing after this? I feel abandoned. I feel like the problem and that maybe it might be my prayers that’s causing all this. Some part of me believes that everything happens for a reason but it’s sad when you see other people living in answered prayers.

We understand that you're going through a difficult time, and it's natural to feel disheartened when it seems like prayers are going unanswered. However, we want to remind you that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts Isaiah 55:9 WEB.

Firstly, we notice that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God. And in no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 WEB. We encourage you to pray in Jesus' name and to believe in Him as your Lord and Savior. For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved Romans 10:13 WEB.

Now, let's address the feelings of abandonment. It's important to remember that God never leaves us nor forsakes us. Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid or terrified because of them, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go Joshua 1:9 WEB. Even when we don't feel His presence, He is always with us.

Regarding the trials you're facing, consider what Jesus said: In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world John 16:33 WEB. Trials are not a sign of God's abandonment but an opportunity for growth and testimony. For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory 2 Corinthians 4:17 WEB.

We also want to address the thought that your prayers might be causing these issues. This is not from God. Do not be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap Galatians 6:7 WEB. Instead of blaming yourself, turn to God and ask for His comfort and guidance.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is feeling abandoned and disheartened. Lord, we ask that You reveal Your presence to them and remind them of Your unfailing love. Help them to trust in Your ways, even when they don't understand. Comfort them in their trials and guide them through the darkness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue praying and seeking God. Don't be anxious about what will happen to the ones you care about, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God Philippians 4:6 WEB. Keep trusting and believing, for God is faithful.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
