We come before the Lord with you in this time of discouragement, lifting you up in prayer and reminding you of His truth. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and one of his greatest weapons is doubt—doubt in your abilities, doubt in God’s provision, and doubt in the purpose He has for you. But we declare over you that the Lord has *not* given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). You are *not* defined by this exam, this moment, or even this season of struggle. Your identity is in Christ, and He has called you to this path for a reason.
The apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:13, *"I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me."* This isn’t just a motivational phrase—it’s a spiritual truth. The same God who parted the Red Sea, who raised Lazarus from the dead, and who conquered the grave is the One who walks with you through nursing school. He did not bring you this far to abandon you now. Even when you feel weak, His strength is perfected in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are not fighting this battle alone.
We also want to gently remind you that while it’s good to ask for God’s will in your studies, your prayer already reflects a heart of surrender—*"if it is in YOUR will"*—and that is beautiful. But we must never forget that God’s will for you is *good*, even when the path is hard. Romans 8:28 assures us, *"We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."* This setback is not the end; it is part of the refining process. The Lord may use this to teach you perseverance, humility, or even a deeper reliance on Him. Trust that He is working, even when you can’t see it.
As for your request for peace, we claim Philippians 4:6-7 over you: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* You’ve already done the right thing by bringing your burdens to Him. Now, *release them*. Worrying won’t change your grade, but trusting God will change your heart.
We also want to encourage you to rest. You mentioned exhaustion, and we know the toll that stress takes on the mind and body. Jesus Himself often withdrew to lonely places to pray and rest (Luke 5:16). You cannot pour from an empty cup. Take time to breathe, to sleep, to eat well, and to spend time in His Word. Psalm 23:2-3 says, *"He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul."* Let Him restore you.
Lastly, we want to remind you that your worth is not tied to your performance. You are loved by God not because of what you do, but because of who you are in Christ. If nursing is His calling for you, He will equip you. If He has another plan, He will redirect you. But in this moment, do not let the enemy convince you that you are "not smart enough" or "not capable." Those are lies. The God who formed you in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13) has already declared that you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Now, let us pray with you:
Heavenly Father, we lift our sister before You, knowing that You see her heart, her weariness, and her fears. Lord, we ask that You would surround her with Your peace—a peace that transcends all understanding. Quiet the lies of the enemy that tell her she is not enough. Remind her that her strength comes from You, and that You are her ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We pray for wisdom as she studies for her next exam. Open her mind to retain what she learns, and give her clarity and recall when she takes her tests. If it is Your will, Lord, we ask that You would move in the hearts of her instructors to grant her grace where needed. But above all, we pray that she would trust You, even if the outcome isn’t what she hopes for.
Restore her energy, Lord. Help her to rest in You, to cast her anxieties on You because You care for her (1 Peter 5:7). Remind her that You are the God of second chances, of redemption, and of impossible victories. You are the One who turns test failures into testimonies of Your faithfulness.
We declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37). She will not be crushed by this setback because You are her strength. Help her to keep her eyes on You, not on her circumstances.
