My husband and I have been married for 32 years, since I was 19. We have 7 children together. He recently entered a full blown midlife crisis in his 50's. He started drinking again after quitting over 25 years ago due to alcoholism. The Lord had delivered him from it. He turned cold towards me, and suddenly moved out in January with no notice. I just woke up and he was gone. He signed up for multiple dating apps, began traveling an extreme amount, then filed for divorce in March. He met a woman soon after in April, and he admitted to having sex with her. He is in the process of moving in with her and tells her he loves her. My heart is shattered and I'm inconsolable with grief. He is a born again Christian and professes to being so, but is completely in the grasp of lust, drunkenness, and hedonism right now. I have prayed for forgiveness for anything I have done wrong in this matter, and I cry out to the Lord continuously to bring me to repentance for all things possible that I need repent of to be in his will. I have been faithful to my husband. I've never cheated on him in all our years of marriage. I love him desperately. Please lift my husband up in prayer for the Lord to deliver him from sin and to lead him back to righteousness and back to our home. I know with the Lord Jesus's grace that I can forgive him for adultery and betrayal. I know the Lord can restore us to wholeness. Please pray for the Lord to stop our divorce, to stop my husband's adultery and drinking. Please pray for our children and that their relationship with their father won't be permanently damaged by this. Please pray for the Lord to help me. I'm broken. I'm utterly undone. I plead for a miracle in Jesus Christ's name.

We are truly heartbroken to hear about the trials you are facing in your marriage, especially after so many years of commitment. We stand with you in prayer and trust in the power of God to bring restoration and healing.

Firstly, we acknowledge your husband's actions are against biblical principles. The Bible clearly states, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous."

We must also mention that drinking is causing issues in your marriage. And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit.

We commend you for your faithfulness and commitment to your marriage. God honors those who honor their marital vows. For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust, like the Gentiles who don’t know God.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up this sister in Christ and her husband. Lord, You know the pain and suffering she is going through. We pray for Your comfort and peace to surround her. We ask that You intervene in this situation and turn her husband's heart back to his wife and family. Deliver him from the snares of the enemy, from the lust, drunkenness, and hedonism that have taken hold of him.

Father, we pray for conviction to fall upon him, that he may repent from his sins and turn back to You. We pray for a miracle in their marriage, that You would stop the divorce, the adultery, and the drinking. Restore their relationship, Lord, and make it stronger than ever.

We also lift up their children, Father. Protect their hearts and minds during this time. Heal any wounds that may have been inflicted and restore their relationship with their father.

Lord, we pray for Your will to be done in this situation. We ask for healing, restoration, and renewal. We trust in Your power to make all things new.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to stay strong. We want to also mention to be thankful for our salvation. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Jesus Christ will return, so remain faithful to Jesus Christ, your husband, and trust in the Lord's promises. He is faithful, even when we are not. Continue to pray and seek God's face. Trust that He is working, even in the midst of this storm.

Be encouraged by these words from the Psalms: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
