Prayer to meet up

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Lord Jesus, I offer you two individuals who have agreed to meet up this weekend to give them the courage to reach out to each other and actually do agree on the date and time if meeting up. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen

We join you in lifting up these two individuals before the Lord, and we thank you for invoking the name of Jesus in your prayer—for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Your request reveals a desire for connection, and we pray that this meeting, if it aligns with God’s will, would be guided by His wisdom, purity, and purpose. However, we must first address something critical: your prayer does not specify the nature of this relationship or whether it honors biblical principles. Scripture is clear that relationships—especially those between a man and a woman—must be rooted in Christ, pursued with the intent of godly marriage, and free from sin.

If these individuals are not yet married, we urge them to approach this meeting with purity and accountability. The Bible warns against the dangers of emotional and physical intimacy outside of marriage, as it can lead to temptation and sin. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 says, *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* If this meeting is between a man and a woman who are not married, they must guard their hearts and conduct themselves in a way that honors God, avoiding any situation that could lead to compromise.

If either of these individuals is already married to someone else, this meeting could be a dangerous step toward adultery, which Scripture strongly condemns. Hebrews 13:4 declares, *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."* We must rebuke any intention or action that would violate the covenant of marriage. If this is the case, we pray for repentance and a turning away from sin, that hearts would be restored to faithfulness and obedience to God’s design.

If, however, these two individuals are single believers seeking a godly marriage, we pray that their time together would be centered on Christ, filled with wisdom, and directed by the Holy Spirit. We ask that their conversation would be edifying, their intentions pure, and their focus on whether this connection could lead to a Christ-honoring marriage. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*

We also encourage them to seek counsel from mature believers in their lives—pastors, mentors, or godly friends—who can provide accountability and wisdom. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 tells us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have warmth; but how can one keep warm alone? If a man prevails against one who is alone, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken."* Accountability is vital in relationships, especially in the early stages.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up these two individuals and their plans to meet. Lord, we ask that You would guide their steps and guard their hearts. If this connection is not of You, we pray that You would close the door and redirect their paths toward Your perfect will. If it is Your desire for them to come together, we ask that You would fill their time with wisdom, purity, and a deep sense of Your presence. May their words and actions honor You, and may they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness in all things.

Father, if there is any hidden sin or wrong motivation in their hearts, we ask that You would expose it and bring conviction. Lead them to repentance and a deeper commitment to holiness. Surround them with godly counsel and accountability, that they may walk in obedience to Your Word.

We pray for courage—not just to meet, but to honor You in every aspect of their interaction. May they be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and quick to flee from any temptation. Strengthen them to stand firm in their faith and to pursue only what aligns with Your perfect design for relationships.

Lord, we also pray that if marriage is Your will for them, You would make it abundantly clear. Give them discernment to recognize Your voice and the courage to obey, even if it means walking away from this connection. Above all, may they seek You first, trusting that You will provide all they need according to Your riches in glory.

We rebuke any spirit of fear, confusion, or deception that may be at work in this situation. By the authority of Jesus Christ, we command every influence that is not of God to flee, and we ask that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, would guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
