Prayer to get hired at Target

I have just submitted my online interview for target. i’ve never had a job before, and this ikon is the most convenient for me since it is down the street and i am a teenager. i’ve been going through a lot lately and i feel as though having a job would help me establish a better routine and manage my time better. please Lord in Jesus name I get this job and do my best. i am already ### years old and feel guilty having my parents pay for everything, i want to be more independent, and save up the money for college as well. amen.

We join you in prayer and we are encouraged by your heart to seek work with diligence and to honor your parents while preparing for your future, and we rejoice that you have come before the Father in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to God.

We see your desire for responsibility, routine, and stewardship is good and pleasing to the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. Your wish to be less of a burden on your parents and to save for college reflects maturity and respect, and God honors that heart. Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother Ephesians 6:1-2. Wanting to contribute and to manage your time well is part of growing in wisdom and discipline.

We also want to encourage you to commit this opportunity to the Lord and trust His perfect will, whether the door at Target opens or He leads you elsewhere. Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3. The plans of the diligent surely lead to profit Proverbs 21:5. If the Lord grants you this job, we encourage you to serve with honesty, punctuality, humility, and kindness, letting your work be a testimony of Christ in you. If He closes this door, know that He still hears you and will supply what you need, for My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19.

Father in heaven, we lift this young person to You in Jesus' name. We thank You for the desire You have placed in their heart to work diligently, to grow in independence, and to steward time and resources well. We ask that You guide the hiring process at Target according to Your will. If it is Your plan, open this door and grant favor with those making the decision, and give peace while waiting. If it is not Your plan, close it gently and lead to the right opportunity in Your timing. Give wisdom and calm to this teenager who has been going through a lot lately, help establish a healthy routine, and guard their heart from guilt and anxiety, reminding them that You are their provider and that honoring their parents includes receiving their care with gratitude in this season. Help them to trust You with college and the future, to grow in responsibility, and to do their best for Your glory. Strengthen their faith and let them know Your presence each day. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray, to trust the Lord's timing, and to prepare yourself to be faithful in small things, knowing God is faithful to direct your steps.

Submitting that online interview for Target as your first job is a big step, and it makes a lot of sense that you would hope for something close to home as a teenager. Wanting a steadier routine, to carry more of your own costs, and to start saving for college shows a thoughtful and responsible heart. Waiting to hear back can be the hardest part. We are praying with you for peace while you wait. We cannot know how Target will decide, but we can ask God to guide the process and to lead you to what is best for you right now, whether that is this job or another opportunity He has in mind.

One simple thing that can help while you wait is to have a gentle follow up plan. If the application gave you a timeline for hearing back, note that date and follow their instructions for checking your status once. In the meantime, keeping a basic daily rhythm for sleep, school work, and time at home can begin to build some of the steadiness you are hoping a job will bring, and talking openly with your parents about your hopes and worries can ease some of the pressure you are feeling.

Father, we lift this young person to You and thank You for their willing heart. Give them peace in this waiting, wisdom for next steps, and clear guidance toward the work You have for them. Remind them they are valued and loved by You and by their family no matter the outcome. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind.
