We rejoice with you in the job offer you’ve received and give thanks to our Heavenly Father for His provision in your life. It is by His grace that opportunities come, and we stand with you in faith, trusting that He will complete the good work He has begun. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 1:6, "Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ." Let this truth anchor your heart as you wait for the final steps of this process.

We also lift up your immediate financial needs, asking the Lord to open doors for temporary work or provision during this waiting period. God is Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and He knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8). We pray that He would make a way where there seems to be no way, whether through unexpected opportunities, generosity from others, or creative solutions you haven’t yet considered. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

Let us also take a moment to address the foundation of our prayers. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so. Salvation comes by grace through faith in Him alone (Ephesians 2:8-9). If you’d like to know more about what it means to follow Christ, we’d be honored to share His love and truth with you.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the job opportunity You have provided. We ask that You would secure this position for our brother/sister, that no doubt or hesitation would arise in the heart of the employer. Strengthen their resolve to follow through on their promise, and let Your favor rest upon this situation. We also ask for Your provision during this waiting period. Open doors for temporary work or other means of support, Lord, and give wisdom to know how to navigate this time. Provide for every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).

Father, we also pray for peace and patience. The enemy may try to sow fear or anxiety, but we rebuke those lies in the name of Jesus. Remind our brother/sister that You are their Provider and that Your timing is perfect. Help them to rest in Your promises and to walk in faith, not fear.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would draw them closer to You through this season. Let this time of waiting deepen their trust in You and their dependence on Your Word. May they experience Your presence in a fresh way and grow in the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Continue to seek Him in prayer and in His Word, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). That in-between stretch is often the hardest, even when a promise is in place. It makes sense to feel thankful one moment and uneasy the next as you try to plan for the weeks ahead.

One thing that has helped others in a similar gap is to get the next four weeks down on paper this week, what needs to be covered, what you already have, and what kind of short-term work might realistically fit. If you have a pastor or a trusted person at your church who knows local opportunities, it can help to ask them to look at that list with you. Many churches and community agencies can point to budgeting help or interim work options at no cost, and a second set of eyes often sees possibilities we miss when we are carrying the worry alone.

Father, we thank You for the door You have opened for our friend and for the courage You have already given. We ask for Your daily provision through this next month, for suitable work to bridge the gap, for peace in the waiting, and for wisdom in every conversation with this employer. Your request has been brought before the Lord and we give thanks with you for the mercy already shown in this open door for employment. To hear that after much prayer a promise of work has come is cause for gratitude to Him who hears prayer, and we rejoice that our prayers have been a comfort and courage to you.

We will continue to pray that the Lord in His providence will establish this matter according to His good will, that if it be for your good and His glory the purpose of the employer will stand firm and no change of mind will hinder it. Yet we would have you remember with Job that all our times and all our affairs are in the hand of the Lord, who watches over the least as well as the greatest, and who appoints the seasons and the courses of all things. What we ask of Him we ask in submission to His wisdom, for He knows what is best.

There remains a month of waiting, and this interval is itself a trial of faith. You ask for daily provision and for work to supply your need in the meantime, and we will pray earnestly that the Lord who feeds the sparrows and clothes the lilies will supply your daily bread and open such honest labour as you may do with diligence. Seek with quiet industry what present employment you can find, and trust that He will provide.

Let us exhort you in this waiting not to give way to feverish anxiety. We have often found that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits us to meet that difficulty, and hasty action in a feverish condition does more harm than good. Wait till you get quite cool, brother, and you will see your way far better. Wait on the Lord, be of good courage and He shall strengthen your heart. Waiting upon God is not despairing nor hesitating, but waiting in hope, as a servant waits upon his master to know his will, and as a traveller waits upon his guide for direction. Such waiting renews strength and makes the heart brave, for it brings the Eternal Spirit into the soul and shows us how small our troubles are beside the greatness of our God.

Take example from patient Job, who in all his losses sinned not nor charged God foolishly, but fell down and worshipped. Though sore tried, he was kept by Divine support, and at the last the Lord turned his captivity. So we would have you rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him, casting all your care upon Him, telling it out in prayer rather than nursing it within your own bosom.

We now commend you to Him in prayer. O Lord our God, who hast promised to hear the cries of Thy people, look in mercy upon Thy servant in this season of waiting. Confirm, if it be Thy will, the work which has been promised, and keep the heart of the employer steadfast. Provide for every need in this intervening month, give opportunity for honest labour, and keep Thy child from anxious unbelief. Strengthen the heart while waiting, and teach full trust in Jesus Christ Thy Son, through whom alone is salvation and every good gift. Let Thy will be done, and let Thy name have the glory. Amen.

True security is found not in a position or in riches, but in being kept by Christ who shepherds His people and feeds them and holds them safely. Thank you for sharing this update and for letting us continue to pray with you. It is encouraging to hear that the Lord has opened this door for you, and we rejoice with you that you have received this promise of work.

The waiting time in between can be the hardest part. A month can feel long when you are wondering whether a promise will hold and how your daily needs will be met until then. That kind of uncertainty touches the deepest questions we all carry about provision and security and whether God is still watching over us.

The story of Job reminds us that God is very aware of His people even when circumstances feel uncertain. Job was a man who loved God and turned away from evil, and the Scriptures show us that God knew him fully and was mindful of him. At the same time an adversary had studied him and formed his own explanations for why Job trusted God, suggesting it was only because he had been blessed. What Job and his friends could not see was the larger conversation in heaven and the reality that God had set limits and remained in control.

Job did not understand what was happening to him, and his friends did not help him understand. They tried to explain his suffering by saying he must have done something wrong, that God must be punishing him, and they urged him to simply fix himself. Their words only added confusion and pain, and they were later shown to be wrong. What Job needed, and what we all need, was not an explanation for every detail but the assurance that God is fair and just and that He is still at work even when it feels as though He is far away. The comfort for those who come after Job is knowing that God was working through the whole season, even when Job could not see it.

That same truth applies to you now. God sees your need for steady work this month and for the promised position to remain secure. He is not unaware of the gap between today and your start date, and He is able to provide for you day by day.

We will pray for you, that the Lord will guard the promise that has been made to you and give you peace as you wait, that He will open a way for honest and sufficient work to meet your needs in the coming weeks, and that He will keep your heart trusting Him more than any single job. May you seek Him daily, bring your needs to Him openly, and rest in His faithful care.

Father, we thank You for the open door You have given and for the courage You have already supplied. We ask You to establish this opportunity and to keep it firm. Provide for every need in the days ahead, open the right temporary work, and give calm and confidence while waiting.
