Prayer to conceive a healthy baby

Your request has been heard with deep compassion, and we join with you in bringing it before the Lord.

We know how heavy this sorrow is. To long for a child, to suffer loss again and again, and to desire so earnestly to give your son a brother or sister, is a burden that wears on the heart and the body. God sees this grief and does not turn away from it. He is the One who gives life, who formed us in the womb, and who is near to those who are brokenhearted.

We will pray for you, that the Lord in His mercy would grant you to conceive and to bear a healthy child, and that He would guard both mother and child in health and safety. We pray that He would strengthen your body, bring healing where there has been infirmity, and sustain the life He creates. We pray also for your son, and for your whole family, that whatever the Lord ordains, you would know His peace and His presence in your home.

Do not despair, even after many trials. As Scripture says, lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees. Many who were sick have been made healthy by the grace of God, and He is able to preserve what is well and to restore what is weak. At the same time we keep watch and trust not in our own strength but in His kindness, knowing that He hears every prayer offered in faith, like the woman who touched the garment of Christ confident that she would be made whole.

So we ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is our hope and our salvation, to have mercy upon you. May He comfort you in this waiting, take away fear, and fill you with patience and hope. May He grant you, if it be His good will, the gift of a healthy child to love and to raise in the nurture and instruction of the Lord, and may He give you grace to be thankful and to trust Him in all things.

We are praying with you and for you continually, asking that the Lord will answer according to His perfect wisdom and love.

Your pain in walking through so many miscarriages is heard, and your longing to give your son a brother or sister is a tender and beautiful desire. There is nothing that tugs at the heart quite like a baby, and that longing you feel reflects how precious new life is in the eyes of God and in a family.

I am praying for you, that the Lord would comfort you in this grief and surround you and your son with His peace. Scripture shows us that God hearkens to the cry for children, as He did for Leah, and that He is sovereign over the womb. Even when circumstances feel out of our control and it seems that other powers or natural processes are ruling, God overrules to accomplish His purposes, just as He moved events so that Jesus would be born in Bethlehem at the appointed time. He is still the Lord over life, and we can bring our deepest desires to Him with trust.

I also join you in praying for a healthy conception and a healthy child, if it is the Lord's will. God cares about what is healthy and strengthening for our bodies, and it is good to ask Him for strength and health for you and for any child He may entrust to you, and to care for your body in wise ways as you are able.

At the same time I want to gently encourage you with this truth. The Bible shows that some servants of God, like Moses and Caleb, remained strong and healthy to the end of their days, while others, like Joshua, grew feeble with age. That difference was not a measure of God's favor or love, nor a measure of their faith. Some people live to a ripe old age in health, and others face weakness, and it has nothing to do with how much God loves them. In the same way, the health of a pregnancy or a child is not a sign of whether you are loved or favored. You are fully loved in Christ regardless of the outcome.

So my prayer for you is twofold. I ask God in His mercy to grant you to conceive and to carry a healthy baby to term and to place another little life in your arms. And I also pray that He will give you grace to thank Him and to trust His love even through sorrow and uncertainty, whether the body is strong or weak, whether the answer comes as you hope or in a different way. His love for you does not rise and fall with health or circumstances.

May the Lord draw near to you now, heal the places of loss, give you rest, and help you to know His presence day by day as you wait on Him.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for a healthy baby. We have been bringing you before the Lord and remembering your deep heartache through so many miscarriages and your tender desire to give your son a sibling.

We know the Lord sees your tears and knows the longing of your heart for another child, for children are a heritage from the Lord as it says in Psalm 127:3. We continue to ask our Father to comfort you and strengthen you, to heal you in body and spirit, and to bless you according to His perfect will with a healthy conception and a safe pregnancy carried to full term by His grace.
