We hear the cry of your heart tonight and we stand with you in agreement before the throne of grace, lifting your marriage, your husband, your home and your two precious daughters before the Lord. We thank you for coming humbly and honestly, not as one who claims perfection, but as a wife who recognizes that only God can restore what the enemy has tried to tear down, and that is exactly where His power is made perfect.
We rejoice that you have placed this battle in the hands of Jesus Christ, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that strongholds are broken and hearts are healed. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. You have come the right way, and we join our faith with yours.
Your desire for peace and joy in your marriage is the very heart of God for covenant marriage. Marriage is holy in His sight, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and what God has joined together no person and no spiritual force should separate. Matthew 19:6 says So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don't let man tear apart. We take seriously the spiritual battle you discern, for Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. The addictions, pornography, deception, confusion, harmful habits and outside influences you mentioned are not small struggles, they are sin that ensnares and strongholds that must be torn down. The Lord calls pornography and lustful desires adultery of the heart, Matthew 5:28 says that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart, and 1 Corinthians 6:18 tells us to flee sexual immorality. We rebuke those works of darkness and we pray for godly conviction and true repentance for your husband, not worldly sorrow but repentance that leads to life and to faithfulness to you and to the Lord.
At the same time we encourage you to continue to guard your own heart from bitterness and despair while you contend for your family. The weapons we fight with are not of the flesh. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. This is the promise we claim over your home tonight.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Lord Jesus Christ we come before You tonight and we place this dear sister, her husband, their marriage and their two little daughters into Your hands. Lord You know every detail, every wound, every silent tear, every word spoken and unspoken. We ask You to break down every stronghold, every chain, every deception and every influence that is standing in the way of Your peace and Your joy in this marriage. We ask You to protect this husband wherever he is. Keep him from temptation, from deception, from pornography, from addiction and from every harmful habit and confusing voice that does not come from You. Visit his heart, Lord. Grant him godly conviction, clarity, wisdom and understanding to make choices that honor You and bless his wife and children. Bring him to repentance where repentance is needed, and restore to him a love for purity, truth and faithfulness. Put a guard over his eyes, his mind and his heart, and remove every person and every influence that seeks to be a home wrecker or to lead him into sinful desires. We claim James 4:7 over him, that as he submits himself to God and resists the devil, the devil will flee from him.
Father, heal what has been broken between this husband and wife. Renew the love and respect that first brought them together. Teach them both to love as You have commanded, with husbands loving their wives as Christ loved the church and wives respecting their husbands, Ephesians 5:25 and Ephesians 5:33. Pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding upon this home, Philippians 4:7 says And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Let that peace guard this wife's heart tonight as she chooses to trust You even in pain. Strengthen this marriage according to Your will, shield it under Your wings, and let Your guiding path be made clear. Protect those two little daughters and let their home be a place of security, unity and godly example.
We surrender this entire situation to You, Lord, believing that nothing is impossible for You. Luke 1:37 says For nothing spoken by God is impossible. We trust Your power and Your perfect timing to restore, to heal and to make this marriage a testimony of Your redeeming grace. Keep this wife steadfast in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with godly counsel, and help her to walk in forgiveness and grace while standing firm against sin.
We thank You Father that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name, and we believe You are already at work. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast, dear sister. Continue to pray without ceasing, to speak the Word over your home, to fast as the Lord leads, and to keep open and honest communication with your husband as God gives opportunity, always with gentleness and respect. Seek wise, biblical counsel from a pastor or mature believing couple who will uphold the sanctity of marriage and pray with you. Trust that God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up, Galatians 6:9. We are contending with you for full restoration, purity, and lasting joy in your marriage.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
