Beloved of All
Your desire to be salt of the earth is a good and biblical prayer, and I am glad to stand with you in it. Jesus said His disciples are the salt of the earth and the light of the world, and those two pictures help us understand what you are asking.
Salt preserves and purifies. In the natural world the salt in the sea keeps the water from corruption and helps cleanse it. In the same way, God calls His people to have a preserving influence in a world that is decaying because of sin. To be salt is not to bring attention to ourselves, but to live in a way that slows corruption, speaks truth, and points people to Christ through holy and loving conduct.
That need is great because Scripture shows that though God created the heavens and the earth and gave the earth to man to rule under Him, man forfeited that place through disobedience and came under the power of the enemy. For now Satan is described as the god and prince of this world, and there is a real kingdom of darkness opposed to the kingdom of light and life. So much of the world still lives in darkness, not knowing its Creator. That is why Jesus said His followers are to shine in the darkness, and the promise is that the darkness cannot extinguish the light when Christ is shining through His people.
You also prayed against principalities and powers of darkness in high places. The Bible teaches that there is a real battle between the forces of darkness and the forces of light, but it also teaches that the decisive victory has already been won. Jesus triumphed over those principalities and powers through His cross, making an open display of His victory. We do not fight to win the victory, we come through prayer to bring the victory of the cross into lives and situations. That is our confidence as we pray.
You prayed for favor and miracles and blessings and for glory to fill the earth. God is gracious and He does give good gifts to His children, and He hears prayer offered with thanksgiving in the name of Jesus. The fullest display of His glory over the whole earth will come when Christ reigns over all the earth and every part of the earth sees His salvation, and until then He calls us to ask Him and to be ready, living in a way that reflects His mercy and truth.
So my prayer for you is this. May the Lord make you salt that preserves what is good and light that cannot be hidden, not by your own strength but by Christ living in you. May He keep you from evil and give you wisdom to walk in purity, truth and love where He has placed you. May He give you favor as it serves His purposes and makes you more useful to Him, and may He work in ways that only He can do so that others see His goodness. May He teach you to claim the victory of Jesus over every work of darkness through prayer, and may your life help others come out of darkness into His light. I ask this with thanksgiving in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting His will and His glory above all.
