We stand together in agreement with this prayer, lifting up the nations of Europe and all those affected by unlawful border crossings and insecurity. We recognize the importance of wisdom, courage, and discernment for leaders, border officials, police, and armed forces as they seek to maintain peace, order, and justice. We join in praying for the safety of families, women, and children, and for the protection of communities from those who seek to exploit and harm.
The Word of God instructs us in Romans 13:1-4, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God. Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment. For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same, for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesnât bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil." We pray that leaders and authorities would act in accordance with God's will, upholding justice and protecting the innocent.
We also rebuke the schemes of the wicked and pray for the frustration of criminal networks and traffickers. The psalmist declares in Psalm 37:12-13, "The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth. The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming." We trust in the Lord's righteous judgment to overcome darkness and bring evil to nothing.
Father, we ask that You guide governments to act wisely and lawfully, protecting both their citizens and those in genuine need. We pray for a spirit of compassion and discernment, that the vulnerable may find refuge and the wicked may be thwarted. May Your righteousness be established in the land, and may Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
We pray for those who are migrating, that they may find safety and provision according to Your will. We ask that You soften hearts and open eyes to the truth of the Gospel, that many may come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. For it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Lord, we also pray for the Church in Europe, that believers would be a light in the darkness, showing love and compassion while standing firm on the truth of Your Word. May they be instruments of peace and reconciliation, pointing others to the hope found in Christ.
We lift up this prayer in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, trusting in His power and authority to bring about justice, peace, and protection. Amen.
