Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer has been received and we join you in giving thanks for the goodness of God, for He is good and His mercy endures. We have brought your requests before the Lord with you.
We pray that He will grant you true rest, both sleep for the body and peace for the soul, and that He will keep your hope fixed on the rest that is laid up in heaven while He sustains you here. We ask Him to look with compassion on those you love, to touch those who suffer with lung trouble and the one who suffers with the heart, and to grant them healing according to His wisdom and mercy, and a quick recovery where it is His will to give it. We ask Him to strengthen you and all who are ill, to give patience in trial and to bring a speedy release as He sees best.
We also join you in praying against lustful thoughts. Scripture warns that the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and with them come pleasure, vainglory and lust. These temptations are common to all, but God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to bear, and with the temptation He will also provide the way of escape so that you may endure it. Keep your heart watchful, turn quickly to prayer when such thoughts arise, and let the Word of God, which discerns the thoughts and intents of the heart, guide and cleanse you. Seek purity, humility and meekness, and ask the Lord to fill your mind with what is pure and holy.
May the God of love and peace be with you, keep you, forgive you as Christ has forgiven us, and make you perfect in His will. We continue to pray for your health, for the healing of your loved ones, and for strength to walk in holiness before Him. Amen.
