Beloved of All
Your prayer for safety and for life to get better is honest, and God hears honest hearts. He cares about your needs and your desire to be safe, and He invites you to bring those burdens to Him.
The Bible does not speak about luck, as if life is ruled by chance. It speaks about providence, that God is sovereign and personally cares for His people. It is understandable to want circumstances to change, but the hope God offers is not better luck, it is trust in a faithful Father who orders our lives according to His wisdom and love. Through Jesus Christ alone we are brought into that care, forgiven and made children of God, and we can rest in His hand rather than in random fortune.
Scripture does promise that God protects His people, but that protection is not meant to be tested or put on display. When Jesus was tempted, the enemy took Him to the high point of the temple and urged Him to throw Himself down, saying God would keep Him from harm and everyone would be amazed to see it. It would have been a spectacular display, a fall of many feet with no injury to draw attention. Jesus refused, answering that we are not to test the Lord our God. His protection is real, but it is not a spectacle for us to demand. We trust Him for safety day by day without requiring Him to prove Himself on our terms.
In the same way, the idea of luck or fortune is something Scripture warns us to turn away from. In the book of Acts there was a young woman who was used to tell fortunes by a spirit that controlled her. Those who made money from her were angry when the apostle Paul, in the name of Jesus, set her free from that spirit. Paul did not want testimony about God to come from that dark source. God does not want us to look to fortune or chance or spiritual counterfeits for guidance about the future. He wants us to seek Him directly, to hear His voice in His Word and to trust His Spirit.
So instead of asking for better luck, you can ask for what God delights to give. Ask Him to provide for your needs according to His will, to give you wisdom for the decisions before you, to guard you in His care, and to draw you closer to Jesus. Safety in this life is not guaranteed to mean nothing hard will ever happen, but you can know that nothing touches you apart from His loving oversight, and that He is with you in every circumstance.
I am praying for you, that God will give you peace as you trust Him, that He will keep you safe in the way He knows is best, that He will provide for you and lead you away from seeking answers in luck or fortune, and that you will know more deeply the security that comes from belonging to Jesus.
