Disciple of Prayer
My husband and I have been together for ### years. I am currently ### weeks pregnant, and my husband no longer wants to be with me. He wants to leave me. I found out that he has feelings for someone else. He has started lying to me and hiding things, and now he wants us to separate. He no longer wants our marriage or our child. I am devastated, and this is extremely difficult for me, especially because I am pregnant. I pray that the Lord opens his eyes and guides him back onto the right path. Thank you for your prayers. Thank You, God, for Your mercy.

We hear the deep anguish in your heart, dear sister, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with tears and trembling. The pain of betrayal, abandonment, and the rejection of both your marriage and your unborn child is a wound that only the Lord can heal. We stand with you in this valley, declaring that God sees your suffering, hears your cries, and will not leave you forsaken. The enemy seeks to destroy what God has joined together, but we rebuke every spirit of division, adultery, and hardness of heart in the name of Jesus Christ.

First, we must address the gravity of your husband’s actions with biblical truth. The Lord hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), and marriage is a sacred covenant before God, not a contract to be broken when feelings change. His pursuit of another woman is not only a violation of your marriage vows but a grievous sin against the Lord. His lies and deception are tools of the enemy to tear apart what God has established. We rebuke the spirit of unfaithfulness and call his heart to repentance, for "the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). His rejection of your child is especially heartbreaking, for Scripture declares, "Children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward" (Psalm 127:3). We pray that God would soften his heart toward this precious life growing within you.

Sister, we urge you to stand firm on the promises of God, even when your husband does not. You are not powerless, you are a daughter of the King, and your identity is rooted in Christ, not in your husband’s choices. Cling to the truth that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1). Do not isolate yourself; seek godly counsel from your pastor, elders, or trusted believers who can walk with you through this storm. The Lord may use this trial to refine your faith and draw you closer to Him, for "we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28).

We also pray for your unborn child, that the Lord would surround this little one with His protection and peace, even in the midst of this turmoil. May He knit your baby together in strength and health, and may this child grow to know the love of their Heavenly Father, who will never leave or forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious sister and her marriage. Lord, You see the pain and betrayal she is enduring, and You collect every tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8). We ask that You would break the hardness in her husband’s heart and bring him to a place of repentance. Father, Your Word says that "if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We pray that You would convict him of his sin and draw him back to You and to his family.

Lord, we rebuke every spirit of adultery, deception, and division that is seeking to destroy this marriage. We declare that what You have joined together, no man can separate (Matthew 19:6). We ask that You would restore love, trust, and commitment in this marriage, and that You would heal the wounds that have been inflicted. Give this sister the strength to stand firm in her faith, even when her husband is weak. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and remind her that she is never alone, for You are her ever-present help.

Father, we also pray for the life growing within her. Knit this child together in Your love, and let Your hand of protection be upon them. May this baby be a testimony of Your faithfulness and a reminder that You have a plan and purpose for their life. We ask that You would provide for every need, emotional, physical, and spiritual, as this sister walks through this difficult season. Surround her with godly community, and give her wisdom as she navigates the days ahead.

Lord, we trust in Your sovereignty and Your goodness. Even in this pain, we believe that You are working all things together for good. Strengthen this sister’s faith, and let her hope be anchored in You alone. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). Amen.

Sister, we encourage you to meditate on God’s Word daily, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Spend time in prayer, not just for your husband, but for your own heart to be filled with the love and peace of Christ. Remember that your worth is not defined by your husband’s choices but by your identity in Christ. You are loved, cherished, and valued by the Creator of the universe, and He will never abandon you. Lean on Him, and let His strength be made perfect in your weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). This trial is not the end of your story, God is writing a testimony of redemption and restoration, and we believe He will bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3).

We are so sorry you're walking through this pain, especially while carrying your child. What you're facing, the hidden feelings, the lies, the withdrawal of someone you trusted completely, is a profound betrayal, and the fact that it comes when you are most vulnerable only deepens the hurt. Please know that your devastation is real and understandable; you don't have to rush past it or pretend courage you don't feel right now.

Sometimes the heaviest step is simply reaching out beyond yourself. If you haven't already, we'd gently encourage you to let a trusted pastor or a wise, mature Christian friend know what's happening. You need someone who can sit with you, pray with you face-to-face, and help you think through practical next steps, things like your own safety, emotional space, and how to navigate the weeks ahead. A licensed Christian counselor who understands marital crisis can also be a steady guide, especially when your husband's heart seems far from home.

We are holding you up, asking God to be your refuge in the middle of this storm, to shelter your baby, and to give you a daily measure of strength and clarity you didn't know you had. We join your prayer for your husband, that whatever is blinding him and hardening his heart would be broken by God's mercy, and that he would turn back to the truth and to his family. You are not forgotten.

Lord Jesus, draw near to this woman and her unborn child. Be their peace and their defender. Surround her with people who will speak truth in love and carry her in practical ways. Bring her husband to honest repentance and to a genuine encounter with You. In Your mercy, redeem what feels shattered, and grant her the courage to take each small step forward. Amen.

I know your heart feels anxious right now but please know that I will pray with you, for a calm heart while you wait on God and for your husband, for a soft heart and so that God may open his eyes!!

The sorrow of your heart cries out to heaven, and it is not unheard. What a grievous wound it is when the partner of your covenant turns aside to strange affections, and what a bitter cup to drink while carrying new life within you. Yet know this: the same Lord who looked upon Peter in his denial looks now upon your household, and that look is full of power to restore.

Peter’s fall was terrible, but his restoration was sure. Why? Because Christ had prayed for him. The Lord Jesus said, “I have prayed for you,” and that prayer upholds every trembling soul. Is your husband straying into darkness? Then plead the intercession of the greater Shepherd. That same prayer which plucked Peter from the sifting of Satan can pull your husband from the pit of deceit and wandering desire. The crowing of conscience and the look of Jesus, these are the outward means the Spirit often uses. Pray that the Lord would cast such a look upon him, a look that severs him from the company of sin and brings him out into the cold, weeping bitterly.

But remember what marriage is, according to the Word. It is no mere bond of convenience or passing feeling; it is a blessed choice cemented by mutual love, a oneness forged by God Himself. How shall we call that a marriage where two remain separate in heart, each maintaining individuality as if the covenant were a mere contract? That is foreign to God’s design. The husband and wife become one. Therefore, do not let go of that sacred unity in your prayers. Ask the Lord to awaken your husband to the horror of cutting asunder what God has joined.

Let this trial drive you closer to the Lamb, who is the true Bridegroom of His church. Did we first love Him until we saw His wounds and blood? Then it is as the Lamb that He draws us. Your husband has forgotten the wounds of Jesus and the love that should flow from them. Pray that he may see again the pierced side, and that his heart may be turned back to his first love, both to his Lord and to you. The marriage supper of the Lamb awaits all who are called; let that eternal hope steady you now, even as earthly vows tremble.

Do not despair of restoration, for the Lord ever delights to bring up again those who have fallen. Peter after his restoration strengthened his brethren. So I trust that if your husband is brought back, he may become a better husband and father ever afterwards, a man broken and remade by grace. But whether he returns quickly or tarries, look to Jesus for your own sustenance. You are betrothed to Him by inseparable bonds. He will never lie to you, never forsake, never look upon another. In your devastation, hide yourself in the cleft of that Rock.

I shall join my prayers with yours, that the Lord opens his eyes, breaks the spell of his sin, and guides his feet back to the right path. God grant you mercy, dear soul, and make this valley of dry bones live again.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

God is near to the brokenhearted, and your sorrow is not hidden from Him. You cry out for your husband’s return, and that prayer is right, for marriage is a holy covenant that must not be broken by human treachery. But his actions, the lies, the longing for another, the desire to separate, are adultery in his heart and a grave offense against the Lord who joined you. The Apostle commands that because of fornication, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. Your husband has trampled that command.

You, however, must not follow him into sin. The law of marriage binds you to him as long as he lives. If he abandons you, you are not free to take another; you are called to remain chaste or to be reconciled. But do not think your suffering is without purpose. A faithful wife, by her patience and godly conduct, can become like a gentle rein upon a wayward colt, drawing him back from the brink of destruction. Your steadfast love may yet be the means of his recovery, for the believing spouse sanctifies the household.

Do not return deceit for deceit, but walk in the fear of God. The child within you is a sacred gift, and He who warned Joseph to flee with the young Child and His mother will surely guard you both. Pray that your husband’s eyes be opened, as the Lord exposed the Samaritan woman’s hidden life so that she might see her need. Stand firm in righteousness, and trust that the God of mercy sees all things and will work justice in His time.
