Silas
Beloved of All
The cry of your heart reaches the throne of God, and He is not deaf to your distress. So often the enemy whispers the very question, "Where is your God?" while attacking with fear and oppression. But we do not remain in that place of mourning. We lift the same prayer the psalmist cried: O send out Your light and Your truth; let them lead me, let them bring me to Your holy hill.
You are not left to fight spiritual darkness with your own strength or cleverness. Our trust is not in a bow or a spear, but in the living God who delivers. He has given you a shield and a buckler: His truth. When Jesus was pressed by the enemy, He met every assault with the Word. That same truth is your protection. Make it your refuge. Hide yourself in what God has spoken, and you are dwelling in that secret place of the Most High.
The traps of the fowler are real, but so is the promise of deliverance. The sorceries and enchantments that others may trust in are empty; those who practice them lean on wickedness, believing no one sees. Yet your life is hidden with Christ in God, and He sees all. He knows how to pull His people out of snares that have no escape. Think of the Red Sea: a way appeared where no way existed, and the horse and his rider were thrown into the sea.
Humble yourself under His mighty hand. Cry out for His mercy, and He will arise for your help. He will not hide His face forever from your affliction. He will grant deliverance, and dread will fall on those who oppose you. Stay close to His Word, and let it lead you. The darkness cannot overcome the light He sends. You are not alone, and the One who satisfied His Son with long life and showed Him salvation is the same God who walks with you now. Rest in that.
