You cry out for human freedom and the life full of the Holy Ghost, and I rejoice that the Spirit has taught you to hunger for this. The Holy Ghost alone can quicken the dead soul, break the fetters of sin, and fill a man with that liberty which is no license to the flesh but the bond-slave’s, manumission into the glorious service of Christ. No man can say Jesus is Lord but by the Holy Ghost, and if you are asking for His filling, then already the Spirit has begun a work, for none so pray except He draw them.
But you speak of freedom as though it were once yours and lost. Remember, the Holy Ghost is a person, not a mere influence; He dwells in all believers, and where He indwells, there is liberty. If you are Christ’s, that blessed Paraclete abides with you forever. Yet we may grieve Him, quench His operations, and walk as though we were still in chains. The thing is, as you say, to get inside this truth: to live in continual dependence upon God the Holy Ghost, drawing fresh supplies from Him day by day. Go to Him as the Great Teacher. Ask Him to illuminate the Word, to gild the sacred page, so that you may see wondrous things out of His law. He will show you again the total ruin of self and the all-sufficiency of Jesus, and in that double revelation, Satan’s lies wither.
As for fleeing from Satan and all his kingdom, this is a holy resolution. But mark it well: the enemy will not depart without a rage, for when the Holy Spirit’s power is at work and light has come in, Satan knows his time is short. He may whisper blasphemies or accuse you of the unpardonable sin, but remember he is a liar and the father of it. Detect him by this: the Spirit convicts of sin to drive you to Christ; Satan condemns to drive you to despair. The one humbles and points to the cross; the other mocks and points to the pit. When you feel the battle hot, do not number the legions of the adversary; look to the Captain of your salvation. Jesus is the seed of the woman who has bruised the serpent’s head. He came to destroy the works of the devil, and He reigns, holding even the most furious fiend on a bridle. The Lord knows exactly how far to let Satan go; the trial has lost its sting the moment you say, “The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
And your household, that blessed declaration, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”, must be a daily dependence upon the Spirit to make it true. You cannot, by your own resolve, secure their hearts. But the Spirit can descend in such power that even a whole house is overshadowed. Sin alone is the evil that enslaves; poverty, chains, affliction, these are not evils. The only true good is to be well-pleasing to God. So if you would have freedom, seek it in Christ. Flee from Satan, yes, but know that you cannot flee by your own strength. The devil still plots against us, and thick darkness surrounds. How shall we be sufficient? By the Holy Ghost who dwells in us. This is our wall, our castle, our refuge. If He dwells in you, He Himself is your guard. But take care not to banish Him by evil deeds.

After His baptism, He was described as being full of the Holy Spirit and was then led by the Spirit. This is the birthright of every believer.
