Please pray for peace in my home, my wife continues to curse at me and make false accusations all day and night. I am doing my best to respond peacefully and with kindness, but she never stops. It is as if it’s all she knows, and I know it is not my job to change her heart but I do have to live with her. Please pray for deliverance for her from any evil spirits and things influencing her to treat me this way. She also likes to have pretty much total control over everything, and this is not a Godly way to live. She needs to give her life to the Lord.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage that is under such strain. The Word of God tells us in Ephesians 4:29, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." It is clear that the words being spoken in this home are not aligned with God’s will, and we grieve for the pain and discord they bring. We also recognize the struggle of living under such constant verbal assault while striving to respond with Christ-like love and patience. It is not your responsibility to change her heart, but it is your calling to reflect Jesus in your actions and words, even when it feels impossible.

The control and manipulation described here are indeed not of God. Scripture tells us in 1 Peter 5:5-6, "Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for 'God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.' Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time." A home where one seeks to dominate rather than serve is a home that lacks the peace of Christ. We must also address the possibility of spiritual oppression, for the enemy seeks to destroy marriages and families. In James 4:7, we are reminded, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." There is power in standing firm against the schemes of the enemy, and we must pray fervently for deliverance from any influence that is not of God.

We also see the urgent need for this wife to surrender her life to the Lord. Without Christ at the center, no marriage can truly thrive. In 2 Corinthians 5:17, we read, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new." Only through a personal relationship with Jesus can she experience the transformation her heart so desperately needs. We must pray for her salvation, for the scales to fall from her eyes, and for the Holy Spirit to convict her of sin and draw her to repentance.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts burdened for this marriage. Lord, we ask for Your peace to fill this home, a peace that surpasses all understanding. We rebuke the spirit of strife, control, and manipulation that has taken root, and we command it to leave in the mighty name of Jesus. We pray for this wife, that You would soften her heart, break the hardness, and draw her to Yourself. Lord, let her see her need for You and surrender her life fully to Christ. We ask for deliverance from any evil influences that may be at work, and we declare that this home belongs to You.

Father, we also lift up this husband, who is striving to respond with kindness and patience. Strengthen him, Lord, and fill him with Your love and wisdom. Help him to stand firm in his faith and to trust You with the outcome of this marriage. Give him the grace to continue reflecting Christ, even in the face of adversity. We ask that You would heal this marriage, restore love and respect, and bring glory to Your name through their union. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and to seek godly counsel, whether through your church or trusted believers who can walk alongside you in this trial. Do not lose heart, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Continue to model Christ in your home, and trust that God is at work, even when you cannot see it. If she is open, invite her to seek the Lord with you, but do not force it, pray for her heart to be softened. The battle is the Lord’s, and He is faithful.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Living with constant cursing and false accusations is exhausting and deeply painful, and we want you to know we hear you. When someone you love speaks over you day and night in ways that cut and tear down, it can make your own home feel unsafe. That is not what God intends for a marriage, and you do not have to carry this alone.

We encourage you to reach out to a wise pastor or a mature Christian counselor who understands the damage verbal aggression can cause. Verbal abuse is real, and its steady rhythm can wear down even the strongest spirit. Having someone who can walk with you, help you set healthy boundaries, and pray with you regularly will make a big difference. If you are part of a small group or have a trusted elder you can confide in, let them share this weight. You are not betraying your wife by getting help; you are fighting for what is good.

In the meantime, keep doing what you are already doing: responding with peace and refusing to retaliate. That steadiness honors God, but it is not weakness. Your hope is not in your ability to withstand her words, but in Christ who stands with you in the fire. We also lift up what you asked about her heart, only the Spirit can bring true deliverance and a surrendered life, and we join you in praying for that, earnestly and without ceasing.

Father, we ask you to be a shield around this husband. Give him daily grace and clear wisdom, and bring people alongside him who can offer godly support. We pray for his wife, soften her heart, silence the voices that drive her to tear down, and draw her to the foot of the cross. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The clamor in your house is the echo of a heart that has no peace with God. You are tasting the bitter fruit of what the prophet named: "Peace, peace, when there is no peace." A soul at war with its Maker will wage war with those nearest. The curses and accusations pour from a deep well of unrest; they are the overflow of a conscience that has never been quieted by the blood of Jesus. For true peace, perfect peace, is not found in controlling a household, in bending others to one's will, or in having everything after one's own ordering. It is found alone in Him whose mind is stayed on God, who trusts in Jehovah. Until she learns that, no alteration of circumstances will hush the storm within her.

Yet I charge you: do not seek a false truce. Do not purchase an outward calm at the cost of truth. The way of peace is not to soothe her sins or to validate her rebellion by a spineless silence. You must speak and live the truth in love, but beware of that carnal peace which is nothing but a whitewashed tomb. Her deliverance will not come by you surrendering your own devotion to Christ as the head of your home to her craving for total control. That is not peace; that is a captivity you must not choose. Rather, let your own soul be kept in perfect peace as your mind is stayed upon your God. In the midst of the din, commune with Jesus. Bear your sorrow with Him, and you will know a rest that the strife cannot touch. The living spring of His grace within you will not let you find contentment in a false and sinful quiet; it will ever be bubbling up, making you disquieted with anything that is contrary to His will.

Therefore, pray for her, not merely against evil spirits, but for the Holy Spirit to graciously wound her heart and give her life in Christ. There is no deliverance from the pit but by the ransom God has found. Pray that she may be brought to an end of her own false goodness, that she may see her sin and trust the Savior whom the Scripture sets before her. Your own patient endurance, combined with a firm and holy godliness, may be the very means the Lord uses to bring her forth with silver and gold, enriched by grace. Do not cease to set plainly before her, by word and by life, the one Way of salvation: faith in the Person of Jesus Christ. Persevere in this, for the same grace that brought you out of darkness can also call her into His marvelous light. Watch and pray, and leave her to God.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your home has become a training ground. Not one you chose, but one God permits for the exercise of your soul. When a wife abuses with words, do not become a woman yourself by answering in kind. To be abusive is a disease of the soul, an inferiority. Do not think it unworthy of you when she rails; it is the honor of a man to bear wrongs patiently and not return evil for evil. Let her provocations become your wrestling school, where you practice gentleness under fire. This is the true contest, not against flesh and blood, but against the spirits that stir up war in a household. You do well to ask prayer for her deliverance. Yet remember: peace begins in your own soul. Think on whatever is true, honorable, pure. If we will be at peace within, God will draw near. If we raise up war, the God of peace will not stay.

Your wife seeks control because she has no peace with God. A soul not ruled by the Lord will try to rule everything else. That is a torment to her as much as to you. Do not accuse her back; do not even receive accusations into your heart as stones to throw. The ancient law required two or three witnesses; suspicion alone is a false judge. Pray for her with tears, not with demands. Put off false accusations by a life so blameless that they have no handle. If she charges you without reason, patiently endure as a foreigner in a strange land. Your true home is above. This does not mean you approve of her sin or pretend it is not sin; it means you overcome evil with good, leaving room for God’s wrath.

Do not grow weary in asking the Lord to break the grip of any evil influence upon her. The allayment after long accusation comes from heaven, not from your arguments. Could her heart change? Nothing is impossible. Many who seemed farthest from grace were drawn in ways no one expected. But you must not make her conversion the price of your own obedience. You answer for yourself before the judgment seat of Christ. Keep your tongue from cursing, your heart from bitterness, your mind from despair. When she curses, bless. When she lies, speak truth gently and then be silent. This is the sacrifice acceptable to God.

Pray for peace, but know that the peace Christ gives can dwell in a house full of strife. It is a peace that surpasses understanding, keeping your heart and mind in Him. That peace is your fortress. She may rage, but you can stand, not because the storm is not real, but because you are anchored to the Rock. Do not separate or give way to sullen distance. Let love bind you together, even when only one side pulls. Come often before God with the church, for where two or three gather in His name, He is there. Bring your wounds honestly into that gathering; do not brood alone.

Do not think this suffering is empty. Every false accusation for Christ’s sake is a fellowship in His sufferings. When you answer kindness for cruelty, you preach a sermon without words. It may be that God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness, will shine in her heart through your patient endurance. But whether she changes soon or late, or not at all in this life, you have a Master who sees and who will vindicate. Stand firm, then, and do all things without grumbling, for this is pleasing to the Lord.

The weight of living under constant accusations and harsh words is a heavy burden, and I want you to know that your desire to respond with peace and kindness, even when it is not returned, reflects a strength that is not your own. You are right that you cannot change her heart; that is a work only the Spirit of God can do. Yet you are living in the middle of a storm, and the weariness is real.

What you are describing has the marks of deep spiritual bondage. There is a way that seems right to a person, and every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the end of that path is destruction. When someone is convinced they are in the right while sowing chaos, they are often deceived by influences that have nothing to do with truth. The need for total control is a classic counterfeit of genuine trust in God. Every person has a god they serve, and when the self sits on that throne, the fruit is exactly what you see: accusation, strife, and a frantic need to dominate.

The Scriptures give us a vivid picture of this. Better is a dry morsel with quietness than a house full of sacrifices with strife. The sacrifices there represent religious activity, the outward show of godliness that can coexist with a war zone at home. A house full of contention, even if it looks impressive from the outside, is a miserable place. The beginning of strife is like letting out water; a small crack in a dam can become a flood that sweeps everything away. That is why the wisdom of Scripture is so direct: leave off contention before it is meddled with. You are doing your best to stop the cycle, and that is vital, because there are people who love strife. It becomes a language they know, a destructive home they are comfortable in. Responding with quietness rather than matching the tone of accusation is the only way to avoid feeding that flood.

The enemy has always used falsehood to torment and accuse. Think of how accusations were hurled against the faithful without any proof, just dramatic words that stirred up a crowd. The accuser’s voice is not a new thing, but it is a deadly one. Your wife is not your enemy, but there is a spiritual influence that delights in making her your accuser. Her words are not ultimately about you; they are the overflow of a heart that has not surrendered to the Lord. When a person does not know the peace of Christ, the chaos inside has to go somewhere. You are the nearest target. That does not excuse the sin, but it helps you see the battle clearly.

Pray for her deliverance, as you are doing, and do not grow weary. The Lord is able to break through any falsehood, any controlling spirit. But while you wait, guard your own heart. A love for the truth will be your protection. Cling to what is real: God’s Word, His promises, His assessment of you as His beloved son if you are in Christ. Let her accusations fall against that shield. Do not be drawn into proving yourself; you cannot reason with a spirit of accusation. Let your quiet, consistent, kind conduct be the only defense you offer. A wise servant will rule over a son who causes shame, your steady faithfulness in the face of this has a power she cannot yet see.

Continue to ask the Lord to reveal Himself to her. A soul can be genuinely deceived, thinking it has the right way. Her need is not first for better behavior but for new life from the giver of life. That is the miracle we are asking for. In the meantime, cast yourself on the mercy of the One who sees all things and knows the truth. He is not fooled by any accusation, and He is near to the brokenhearted. Keep your own channel clear of bitterness, and trust that the God who calms the sea can bring quietness to your home.
