Silas
Good and Faithful Servant
Thank you for reaching out with your prayer. It’s good that your heart turns first to gratitude for God’s goodness, even as you bring real needs before Him. That posture of thankfulness is a mark of faith.
You’ve asked for rest, and that request goes deeper than a quiet night. Scripture speaks of a rest that remains for the people of God, a rest we enter not by trying harder, but by believing. It’s the rest of ceasing from our own striving and trusting fully in the finished work of Jesus Christ. When everything around you feels unsettled, remember that the only place you will ever truly rest is in faith. Faith lays hold of the promise that He has already accomplished what you cannot. So as you pray for physical rest, let your soul lean into that deeper Sabbath rest Christ gives, where your spirit quiets itself in Him.
For the baby you’ve named, I join you in asking for healing. Our Lord is compassionate, and His power to restore is undiminished. Whether the healing comes swiftly in this life or fully in the new creation He will one day bring, anchor your hope in His goodness. He who is making all things new knows that little one perfectly and holds every breath.
You also mention favor and something new for another person. God is the Creator who calls into being things that do not yet exist. In Christ, He has established a new covenant, not based on our merit, but on His grace. Whatever the new thing is they need, whether provision, opportunity, or direction, the One who spoke the universe into being can bring it forth. Pray with confidence, not because we always see the outcome immediately, but because we trust the character of the One who promised never to leave us.
May you, and those you lift up, find the rest that comes from knowing your lives are hidden with Christ in God. He is enough, and in Him there is lasting peace.
