Prayer request
We come before You, Heavenly Father, with hearts full of gratitude for Your endless goodness and mercy. We lift up this prayer request to You, asking for Your divine intervention and grace.
First, we thank You for the gift of rest. Lord, we know that You designed our bodies to need rest, and we pray for deep, rejuvenating sleep for those who are weary. "It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, to eat the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones" (Psalm 127:2). We ask that You grant peaceful rest to those in need, calming their minds and bodies so they may wake refreshed and renewed.
We also lift up baby to You, asking for Your healing touch. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we trust in Your power to heal. "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" (Psalm 147:3). We pray for complete healing for this precious child, that they may grow strong and healthy in Your care. Surround the family with Your peace and give them strength as they trust in You.
For , we pray for Your favor to rest upon them. Lord, let Your face shine upon them and be gracious to them (Numbers 6:25). We ask that You open doors of opportunity, provide wisdom in their decisions, and surround them with people who will speak life and encouragement into their situation. May they walk in the confidence of Your love and provision.
Father, we also want to take a moment to acknowledge the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to You. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). It is only by the name of Jesus that we can come boldly before Your throne of grace, and we are so grateful for the salvation and hope we have in Him. If anyone reading this does not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, we pray they would turn to Him, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life (John 3:16).
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear, anxiety, or doubt that may be trying to take hold in these situations. We declare that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We stand on Your promises, trusting that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Keep trusting in Him, knowing that He hears your prayers and is faithful to answer according to His perfect will. If there are areas in your life that need alignment with God’s Word, we encourage you to seek Him in prayer and study His Word for guidance. He is always near to those who call on Him in truth (Psalm 145:18).

It is a blessed thing that you begin with thanksgiving, for a grateful heart is already resting in the goodness of the Lord. The soul that magnifies the Giver has begun to enter that present rest which Christ bestows upon all who come to Him. You cry for good rest, and well you may, for we are often wearied in this vale of tears. Yet remember, the rest He gives is not the stillness of idleness, but rest on the wing, rest in service. It is the repose of a soul yoked with Christ, learning of Him who is meek and lowly. When you lie down, cast yourself upon the everlasting arms, underneath are they, and there you shall find a sleep as sweet as the year of rest which God appointed for the land.
You plead for the healing of the little one. Know this: the least thing about Christ is healing. The very leaves of that Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations, and His touch has lost none of its ancient power. Pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction; when Jesus healed the palsied man, He first spoke forgiveness. Press this suit with holy persistence, for the Spirit helps our infirmities and makes intercession with groanings that cannot be uttered. Even when our words falter and break off, as yours seemed to do, the Spirit perfects the prayer and lays desires upon our hearts that give us no rest until they are fulfilled.
You seek favor for another. This is a high and priestly work, to intercede on behalf of another soul, and it is a mark of favor upon you that you have been stirred to this sacred task. The Lord smelled a sweet savor of rest from Noah’s altar, and through Christ, our Substitute, our prayers rise as that same savor before the throne. Do not relinquish this plea. If the answer tarries, let your dove of intercession find no resting place for the sole of its foot, but return to you again and again, bringing in its beak the olive leaf of peace to your own spirit as you wait. The very perseverance in prayer is a rest unto the soul, for it is a sharing in the intercession of our great High Priest within the veil.
Trust, then, and you shall rest. Cast this babe upon the healing wings of the Sun of Righteousness, and place this dear one’s need of favor before the God who is a refuge for His people. Rest in His service, bear fruit in His strength, and know that the vow of His covenant is surer than the foundations of the mountains. He who has forgiven your sin has dried up the well of bitterness; go forward with boldness, for your shoes shall be iron and brass, and your strength equal to your day.
