Faithful Servant
You thank the Lord for His goodness, and that’s the right starting place. Every good gift comes from Him. You’ve asked for rest, and that request runs deeper than a comfortable night. God has promised His people a rest that is far more than physical. The Scriptures warn us to take care that, with the promise of entering His rest still open, none of us falls short. So many struggle, trying to find rest in their own effort or in having all their questions answered first. But we only enter that rest by faith. You cannot rest in your own skills, your works, or even in seeing the whole picture. The rest God gives is found in Jesus Christ and what He has already finished for us. Faith is the only place you’ll ever truly rest.
You lift up a baby for healing. I join you in that. God is able. He heals today, and His power has not diminished. Yet even as we pray for physical healing, remember that the greatest miracle any of us can receive is the forgiveness of sins and new life in Christ. That eternal healing overshadows everything else. Hold the child before the Lord in trust, not in frenzy or desperation. Faith rests in His kindness, whether we see the answer immediately or not.
You also ask for favor and something new. That might be a job, a home, or another opportunity. Here too, rest in faith rather than striving. The world chases favor by currying influence or manipulating outcomes, but God’s favor rests on those who simply believe Him. Cease from your own anxious works, as God rested after creation. Let Jesus carry what you cannot. Do not let unbelief keep you outside the provision He has already promised.
May you experience the deep, refreshing rest that comes only when you trust Christ completely. Place the baby, the need for favor, and every burden into His hands. He is faithful. In that quiet place of faith, you will find rest for your soul.
