Prayer request

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of compassion and concern for your prayer request. First, we want to acknowledge that you addressed your prayer to "Dear Lord," but we must gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Therefore, we must always approach God in the name of Jesus, for He is our mediator (1 Timothy 2:5).

Now, let us lift up your requests to our Heavenly Father in the mighty name of Jesus.

We pray for your good rest, dear one. The Lord knows your need for physical and spiritual renewal. Jesus invites us in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." May you find true rest in Him, casting all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

We lift up baby to the Lord for healing. We know that our God is the Great Physician, and He hears the cries of His children. In James 5:14-15, we are told, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." We pray that the Lord would touch baby with His healing hand, restoring health and strength. May the Lord grant wisdom and skill to all those caring for this precious child.

For , we pray for favor. We know that the Lord delights in blessing His children. Psalm 5:12 says, "For you will bless the righteous. Yahweh, you will surround him with favor as with a shield." May the Lord open doors of opportunity and pour out His favor upon in every area of life. May seek the Lord’s will above all else, trusting in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."

Lastly, you prayed for a new . If this refers to a new job, home, or season in life, we pray that the Lord would guide and provide according to His perfect will. If this refers to a new relationship or marriage, we encourage you to seek a godly spouse who loves the Lord with all their heart. Marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God, and it should be entered into with reverence and wisdom. We pray that if it is God’s will for you or to marry, that He would bring a spouse who honors Him and loves you as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25). Remember, 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns us, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship do righteousness and iniquity have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness?"

If there is any sin in your life or in the lives of those you are praying for, whether it be unforgiveness, bitterness, sexual immorality, or anything else, we encourage you to confess it before the Lord. 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." The Lord is faithful to forgive and restore.

Let us now pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your goodness and mercy that follow us all the days of our lives. Lord, we lift up each of these requests to You, trusting in Your perfect will and timing.

Father, we ask that You grant good rest to this dear one. Refresh their body, mind, and spirit. Let them find peace and comfort in Your presence, knowing that You are their refuge and strength.

Lord, we pray for baby , asking for Your healing touch. Lay Your hands upon this little one and restore them to full health. Give wisdom to their caregivers and surround them with Your love and protection.

Father, we ask for Your favor to rest upon . Open doors that no man can shut and grant them success in all they do as they seek to honor You. May they walk in Your ways and experience Your blessings.

Lord, if it is Your will for a new season, job, home, or marriage, we ask that You guide and provide. Lead them to a godly spouse if that is Your plan, and help them to wait on You with patience and faith. Guard their hearts from impurity and help them to honor You in all their relationships.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may be trying to take hold. We declare that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Strengthen this dear one with Your might and fill them with hope.

We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for sharing these specific requests with us. It’s beautiful to see you weave thanksgiving right alongside your needs, that kind of honesty before God matters deeply. We’re holding these names and needs with you, trusting that He hears every one of them.

For the good rest you’re praying for, sometimes our bodies need permission to stop, not just a change in circumstances. We’re asking God for genuine restoration, the kind that reaches deeper than sleep itself. For baby , we join you in simply asking for healing, believing God knows every cell and system in that little body. And for, we’re praying for the right door to open, for favor that can’t be manufactured or manipulated, only given.

It’s often when we’re waiting on these things that the waiting itself feels heavy. You don’t have to carry that alone. Keep bringing it all here, out loud, as often as you need to. We’ll keep standing with you.

Lord Jesus, thank You that You know each person named in this request. We ask for deep, renewing rest, body, mind, and spirit. Touch baby with Your healing hand and bring complete wholeness. Open the right opportunity for , and let Your favor go before them in ways they can’t arrange for themselves. Give faith for the waiting and peace while You work. In Your name we pray, Amen.

My dear friend, your prayer rises as incense before the throne and I would strengthen your hands as you knock at the gate of mercy. You plead for rest, for healing upon a little one, and for favor to attend your path. These are no small things, yet they are precisely the gifts our gracious Lord delights to bestow upon those who come to Him.

You ask first for good rest. Hear then the royal word from the lips of the Saviour Himself: "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." This is no mere truce from outward trouble but a rest which touches the deeps of the soul. Many seek repose in a change of circumstance and find only a shifting of their burdens from one shoulder to another. But the rest which Jesus gives is a cessation from the servile toil of saving ourselves, a sweet lying down upon the finished work of Christ. It is a rest into which we who have believed do enter, even while yet in the wilderness with inbred sins to overcome. Lay your head tonight, not upon the pillow of your own anxieties, but upon the bosom of the covenant, and say, "My Father, underneath are the everlasting arms." He is your shelter, your abode, your support. When sleep tarries, let meditation upon His promises sing a lullaby to your spirit, for His words are sweetness itself, and even a single note of His love is more melodious than a whole chime of earthly comforts.

You bear upon your heart a dear infant needing healing. Little ones hold a peculiar place in the affections of our Lord. When His disciples would have turned away the children, He was much displeased and took them up in His arms. I cannot read the secrets of eternal election, yet we are taught to hope with strong consolation concerning those who die in infancy, and we know that the Saviour's power to heal is undiminished. The tree of life in the paradise above bears leaves for the healing of the nations, and even now the Lord sends forth His word and heals our diseases. Pardon and healing walk hand in hand from the same pierced hands. Pray on, mother or father of sorrows. Cry mightily as the Shunammite who would not leave the prophet’s feet. Tell the Lord that it is well, even when the heart aches, and expect that He who bore our griefs will look upon your little one with eyes of compassion. Whether by restoration to health here or by a swifter translation to the gardens of immortality, He will do all things well.

And you seek favor and something new. Remember that the highest favor is not the applause of men nor the increase of earthly goods, but to be accepted in the Beloved, to walk in the light of His countenance. When the Lord brought His Israel out of bondage, He gave them not only freedom but favor in the sight of the Egyptians, loading them with gifts. Yet the sweeter favor was this: "I will accept you with your sweet savor." Through the merits of Jesus you are made a sweet savor unto God. The new thing you crave may well begin with a fresh sight of Calvary, where old things pass away and all things become new. It may come through some unlooked-for providence or quiet revival within, but be sure that He who makes a covenant with His people has thoughts of peace and not of evil toward you. Sometimes we desire a change of circumstances when the Lord intends a change of heart, which is infinitely better.

Go now to your knees with these three petitions woven together, for they meet in the person of Christ. In Him there is rest for the weary, healing for the suffering, and unmerited favor for the undeserving. He is no reluctant giver. Take His yoke upon you, learn of Him, for He is meek and lowly in heart, and you shall find rest unto your soul. The burden of a little child’s sickness, the weight of uncertain days, the longing for a new token from His hand, carry all these to the foot of the cross and leave them there. What you cannot understand, trust. What you cannot change, commit. For the Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble, and He knows those who take refuge in Him.
