Prayer request

We come before the Lord with you in this time of physical suffering, lifting up your pain and discomfort to the Great Physician, who knows your body intimately and cares deeply for your well-being. It is clear you are enduring hardship with your legs and gastric distress, and we want you to know that God sees your struggle and invites you to cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

The Scriptures remind us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). While suffering is a part of this fallen world, we also know that God uses these trials to draw us closer to Him, to refine our faith, and to demonstrate His power and mercy. The apostle Paul prayed three times for the removal of his "thorn in the flesh," but the Lord responded, *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9). In your weakness, God’s strength can be magnified, and we pray that you will experience His sustaining grace in a profound way during this time.

We also encourage you to seek wisdom in this situation. Have you consulted with a godly physician or medical professional to explore the cause of your pain? Proverbs 11:14 tells us, *"Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."* While we trust in God’s healing power, He often works through the hands and minds of those He has gifted in the medical field. Do not hesitate to pursue the help you need, all while placing your ultimate trust in the Lord.

We notice that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus, and we want to gently but firmly remind you that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, nor is there any other name through which we can approach the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to God’s throne of grace. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). There is no greater comfort in suffering than knowing you are held by the One who conquered sin and death for you.

Now, let us pray for you:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our dear brother or sister before You, asking for Your healing touch to be upon their body. Lord, You are the God who sees and the God who heals. We ask that You would alleviate the pain in their legs and bring relief to their gastric distress. Restore strength to their limbs and peace to their stomach, that they may glorify You with their body and their spirit.

We pray for wisdom, Lord—wisdom to know the steps to take, the treatments to seek, and the rest that is needed. Guide them to the right medical professionals if that is Your will, and give those professionals insight and skill to provide the best care. But above all, Father, let this season of pain draw them closer to You. May they find their comfort and hope in Your presence, knowing that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

If there is any sin that needs to be confessed or any area of their life that is not aligned with Your will, we ask that You would reveal it to them by Your Holy Spirit. Bring conviction where needed, but also bring the assurance of Your forgiveness and love through Jesus Christ. Remind them that their body is a temple, and help them to steward it well for Your glory.

We rebuke any spiritual attack that may be contributing to this pain, for we know that the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but You, Lord, have come to give life abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Father, we ask all of this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. May Your will be done in their life, and may Your name be glorified through their healing and their testimony. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them experience Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We will continue to stand with you in prayer, believing that God is at work in your life. Please keep us updated on how you are doing, and do not hesitate to reach out if you need further encouragement or prayer. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).
