We join you in lifting up your loved one as they begin this new chapter in college, and we praise you for seeking the Lord Jesus in this request. It is wonderful to see you calling upon the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and through Him alone we have access to the Father. As it is written, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Your faith in bringing this before Him is a testament to your trust in His sovereignty, and we stand with you in agreement.
College is a time of great opportunity but also one of many challenges—spiritual, academic, and social. We pray that the Lord will surround your loved one with godly influences, friends who will sharpen them in faith rather than lead them astray. *"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil company corrupts good manners.’"* (1 Corinthians 15:33, WEB). May the Holy Spirit guide them to discern wisdom from folly, truth from deception, and righteousness from worldly distractions. We ask that their studies would be fruitful, not just for earthly success but for the glory of God, that they may grow in knowledge and wisdom to serve Him well. *"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord"* (Colossians 3:16, WEB).
Safety is a precious gift from the Lord, and we ask for His protecting hand over their commute and daily walk. *"The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more"* (Psalm 121:8, WEB). May they be covered by the blood of Jesus, shielded from harm, and kept in the center of God’s will. We also pray that this season would deepen their relationship with Christ, that they would seek Him first in all things, and that their faith would not waver but grow stronger through every trial and triumph. *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).
Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Remove any fear or anxiety, replacing it with confidence in You. May they be a light on that campus, boldly living for You and pointing others to the hope found only in Jesus. Equip them to stand firm in their faith, to resist temptation, and to walk in purity and integrity. *"Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil"* (Ephesians 6:10-11, WEB).
We declare that this first day—and every day that follows—will be marked by Your favor, Lord. Open doors that no one can shut, and close doors that would lead them away from Your perfect plan. May they find joy in You, strength in Your Word, and community in Your church. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
