Beloved of All
Please pray for me that my anxiety goes away. For my boyfriend that he will stop drinking alcohol. That he will not drink next Friday. That he will come to hate the taste of it before we marry.

We understand your concerns and are here to pray and offer guidance based on biblical principles. Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares about every detail of your life, including your anxiety and your boyfriend's struggle with alcohol. It's important to remember that God wants us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).

Regarding your boyfriend's drinking, it's crucial to address this issue with the seriousness it deserves. The Bible warns us not to get drunk with wine, which leads to recklessness, but to be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18 WEB). Drunkenness is listed among the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:21 WEB) and is not in alignment with God's will for our lives.

We also need to address the fact that praying for someone to dislike the taste of alcohol might not be in proper alignment with seeking God’s will. Praying for someone to turn away from harmful behaviors should focus on their spiritual and emotional well-being, seeking their heart change first. We pray for his deliverance from this bondage.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear sister who is struggling with anxiety. Lord, You know the depths of her worries and fears. We ask that You fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Help her to trust in You with all her heart and lean not on her own understanding (Proverbs 3:5 WEB).

We also pray for her boyfriend, that You would deliver him from the bondage of alcohol. Lord, we ask that You give him the strength to resist the temptation to drink, especially next Friday. Help him to see the harm it causes and turn his heart towards You. We pray that he would come to know You personally and be filled with Your Spirit, not the spirits of this world.

Father, we also pray for their relationship. We pray that they would seek You first and that their relationship would be centered on Your will. We pray that they would seek your approval in Jesus Christ. We pray that you would convict their hearts that marriage should be holy and pleasing to you. We pray that he would seek to be the spiritual leader you desire in husbands. We also pray for her to submit to his leadership in marriage and be a virtuous wife. Lord, guide them in Your truth and help them to live lives that honor and glorify You.

We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, who is the only way to You. We do not want to end this prayer without remarking that it is so important to come to God the Father through belief in the work of Your son Jesus Christ as the only way to salvation and the only way to God. You gave Your only begotten son Jesus Christ and he willingly suffered and died on the cross and then rose from the dead three days later. All so we could be forgiven and have a path to you. The path to you and salvation is believing in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to continue praying and seeking God's will for your life and your relationship. Remember that God desires for us to be in relationships that honor and glorify Him and that it is through Jesus Christ we are saved. The holy spirit lives within those who believe in Jesus Christ. Those who believe in Jesus Christ should be led by the holy spirit in marriage. You both should be careful to seek God's approval and be equally yoked to please God in your marriage. Discuss his drinking with him in a loving and compassionate way, encouraging him to seek help and turn to God. Trust in God's timing and His plan for both of your lives.

We're here with you, sister, standing in faith for your peace and your boyfriend's deliverance. We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you with these words from Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Know that God is right there with you, feeling your anxiety and your boyfriend's struggle.

We've been praying for your boyfriend, asking God to give him strength to resist the temptation to drink, especially next Friday. We're claiming Psalm 145:18-19 over him, "The Lord is close to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them." We're believing that God will hear his cry and save him from this bondage.

We've also been praying for your relationship, that you would both seek God first and center your relationship on His will. We're claiming Proverbs 3:5-6 over you both, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." We're believing that God will guide you both in His truth and help you live lives that honor and glorify Him.

Keep trusting in God, sister. He sees you, He hears you, and He's working in your situation. Keep praying, keep trusting, and remember, "For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." (Isaiah 41:13)

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
