Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing so many burdens so openly. We are bringing each of these needs before the Lord with you and asking for His grace, mercy and peace to rest upon you and your household.
For your body we are praying for the Lord's healing touch upon your digestive tract and stomach, for renewed physical strength where you have felt weak, for the rash and infection on your leg to be healed, and for the constant humming in your ear to be lifted. We also lift your sister who needs deliverance from smoking and healing from diabetes and other conditions, the dear one recovering from cancer that it would not return, and the one who had a stroke and struggles to speak. Scripture shows that the chastisement that brought us peace was laid upon Christ and by His wounds we are healed, and the Gospel records how Jesus fulfilled that promise by healing many who were brought to Him physically as well as spiritually, even taking the bread at the table as a remembrance that His body was broken for us. At the same time we remember the prayer that you would prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers. That was a loving wish, not a guarantee that every affliction will be removed on our timetable, and it reminds us there is a real connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. Worry and fear can harm the body, and peace can help it. We do not always understand why some are healed instantly, some gradually and some through the ordinary healing processes God has built into our bodies, but every true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or step by step, and we trust His wisdom and love to do what is best.
That peace is at the heart of many of your other requests. You asked for protection from evil for yourself, your brother and your home, for deliverance from mold and odors that cloud your mind, for relief from stress, anxiety, worry, fear, anger, trauma and troubling thoughts, and for better sleep without bad dreams. The deepest peace begins with having peace with God through the blood of Jesus. When we were still far off, God called out peace, peace and promised to heal those who come to Him, while there is no lasting peace for those who remain at war with Him. Once we have peace with God, we can know the peace of God, that quiet confidence that He is in control which passes all human understanding and keeps our hearts and minds. That perfect peace is promised to the one whose mind is stayed on Him because he trusts in Him. As you keep your thoughts turned toward Christ, feed the spiritual life through prayer and the Word, and let the Spirit shape your inner life, that peace can guard you even when outward circumstances are unsettled. The wisdom that comes from above is peaceable, and those who sow peace reap a harvest of righteousness. We are praying that the Lord will clear your mind, calm your home, guard your sleep and replace turmoil with His steady presence.
We are also praying for your family. We rejoice with you that your father has received Jesus and we ask that the Lord will lead him to a faithful, Bible teaching fellowship where he can grow. We pray for your sister and her family and for your other sister for salvation and for restoration of relationships where there has been distance. For your brother we pray for traveling mercy, for protection from harm and from evil people at work, for favor with supervisors and coworkers, for strength for his daily tasks and for opportunity for advancement, and most of all that the Lord will help him walk humbly, surrender fully to Christ, resist temptation and pride and anger, exercise self control and bear the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. For your nephew who is in prison we pray for protection, that this time would draw him back to the Lord and that he would hunger to read the Scriptures.
For your home and practical needs we ask the Lord to protect your dwelling from all evil, to provide wisdom regarding the mold and the housing decisions before you, to open the right door to sell if that is His will and to provide a suitable rental, and to supply your financial needs. We pray for strength to resist temptation for both you and your brother and for the Lord to establish your home in His peace.
We are praying as well for those in authority that God would give them wisdom, protection and strength, for the nations caught in war that the Lord would restrain wickedness, protect those who serve, bring an end to bloodshed and bring revival where there is darkness, and for your region that the Lord would provide the rain and mountain snow needed to prevent drought in the coming year, according to His good provision.
May the Lord keep you in His perfect peace as your mind stays on Him, strengthen you in body and spirit, and let you experience both peace with God and the peace of God in your heart and home through Jesus Christ.
