Prayer Request: Intercession for Wisdom, Integrity, and Reconciliation

Dexter2020

Good and Faithful Servant
Dear Prayer Partners,

I am writing to request your prayers concerning a situation involving a professional in the legal and recruitment community whose recent public statements have caused significant distress and division.

We seek intercession for a professional—a sister in Christ and a member of the bar—who has transitioned into the recruitment sector. Recently, she has made a series of public statements on podcasts and social media platforms targeting young Singaporeans. These comments have been widely characterized as discriminatory and potentially libelous, sparking significant public outcry.

Specific Prayer Points:

  • For Accountability and True Repentance: We pray that she recognizes that the grace and forgiveness of Jesus are not a "free pass" or a license to continue in harmful behavior. We ask that she would not use her faith as a shield to justify or persist in slander and libel.

  • For Discernment in Stewardship: We lift up the concern regarding her professional communications, including her LinkedIn profile, where she has invoked the phrase "let God do the rest" following controversial statements and justify it by saying because Jesus forgives so she kept repeating her sin and she is a Christian. We pray she understands that we are called to be responsible stewards of our words and that divine peace follows right action and reconciliation.

  • For Adherence to Integrity: We pray that she upholds the high ethical standards expected of both the legal profession and the Christian faith, ensuring that her public discourse remains truthful, non-discriminatory, and respectful of Singapore’s laws.

  • For the Healing of the Community: We lift up the young Singaporeans who have felt targeted by these accusations. We pray for healing from discriminatory rhetoric and for the preservation of social harmony.

  • For Sincere Reflection: As she has restricted access to her social media platforms under the guise of righteousness, we pray this time is used for honest self-examination and a sincere alignment with the heart of God, rather than a dismissal of the consequences of her actions.
We ask for God’s guidance in this matter, that truth may prevail and that the conduct of those in positions of influence reflects the grace, humility, and justice we are called to uphold.

Amen.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation with a deep sense of urgency and concern. Father, we know that Your Word is clear: *"Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear"* (Ephesians 4:29). The power of words cannot be underestimated, for they have the ability to build up or tear down, to heal or to wound. We are grieved by the reports of harmful speech that has caused division and distress, and we ask that You intervene in this matter according to Your will.

Lord, we pray for this sister in Christ, that she would come to a true understanding of repentance. It is not enough to claim the name of Jesus while continuing in patterns of speech that bring harm to others. *"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?"* (Romans 6:1-2). Forgiveness is not a license to sin, nor is it a shield to hide behind when our actions cause pain. We ask that You break her heart for the ways her words have hurt others and that she would seek genuine reconciliation, not just with those she has wronged, but with You, the Author of truth and love.

We are deeply troubled by the misuse of faith as a justification for repeating harmful behavior. The phrase *"let God do the rest"* has been twisted to excuse a lack of accountability, as if grace were a free pass rather than a call to holy living. *"For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another"* (Galatians 5:13). Lord, we pray that she would understand that true faith is evidenced by a transformed life, one that reflects the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). May she no longer use her platform to spread division but instead to speak life, truth, and unity.

We also lift up the young people in ### who have been affected by these words. Lord, we ask that You would heal their hearts and restore their sense of dignity and worth. *"The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit"* (Proverbs 18:21). May they find comfort in Your love and may the wounds caused by careless speech be mended by Your grace. We pray for the preservation of social harmony in ###, that Your peace would reign in the hearts of all who have been impacted.

Father, we ask that this time of restricted access to social media would not be used as an opportunity to retreat into self-righteousness or defensiveness, but as a season of sincere reflection. *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way"* (Psalm 139:23-24). May she humble herself before You, examining her heart and motives, and may she emerge from this time with a renewed commitment to integrity, both in her professional life and in her walk with You.

We also pray for wisdom for those in positions of influence who may need to address this situation. May they act with justice, mercy, and humility, reflecting Your heart in all they do. *"He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?"* (Micah 6:8).

Lord, we know that it is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to You, and it is only by His blood that we are forgiven and made new. We pray that this sister in Christ would not take His sacrifice for granted but would live in a manner worthy of the calling she has received. May she, and all of us, remember that *"if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9). But let us also remember that confession must be accompanied by a turning away from sin, a true change of heart and action.

We lift all of this to You, Father, trusting in Your sovereignty and Your perfect justice. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it all. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We are deeply grateful for the privilege of standing with you in prayer over this sensitive and weighty matter. It has been on our hearts to lift up this sister in Christ, the young people affected by her words, and the broader community as we continue to seek God’s wisdom, integrity, and reconciliation in this situation.

We have prayed earnestly for true repentance and accountability, asking the Lord to soften hearts and bring about a recognition of the harm caused by words spoken without discernment or love. We have interceded for the Holy Spirit to convict where conviction is needed and to lead this sister into a deeper understanding of what it means to steward her influence with humility and truth. We have also asked God to guard the hearts of those who have been hurt or confused by her statements, praying for healing, unity, and a restoration of trust within the community.

If the Lord has already moved in this situation—whether through changed hearts, clarified truth, or steps toward reconciliation—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report from you. Your testimony could be a powerful witness to God’s faithfulness and grace. On the other hand, if the situation remains unresolved or if new concerns have arisen, we invite you to share an update so that we may continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting that the Lord is at work even when we cannot yet see it.

Above all, we pray that God’s will would be done, that His name would be glorified, and that His people would reflect the love, truth, and justice of Christ in every word and action. May He grant you peace and perseverance as you seek Him in this matter, and may we all grow in wisdom and grace through this trial.

We continue to pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
