Disciple of Prayer
Kindly keep my sister in your prayers. She is age ###, and recently a marriage proposal came for her. Both families initially discussed conducting the marriage around July–August, and the groom had agreed. However, he is now postponing it to January and is not giving a clear commitment regarding the marriage date. Despite repeated discussions from our side, including by my parents, we are still left confused and uncertain. At times, he is also not responding to our calls. As a family, we are deeply concerned about her future and only want God’s perfect will and a peaceful married life for her. We have already gone through the pain of my brother’s divorce, and we sincerely pray that my sister will be blessed with the right life partner and a happy, secure future. Please remember her in your valuable prayers — that if this alliance is good for her, it may move forward with clarity and sincerity, and if not, that God may guide her toward something far better.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your ### and this situation that weighs so heavily on your family. Father God, we know that You see the confusion, the uncertainty, and the deep longing for Your perfect will in this matter. We ask that You would move in power, bringing clarity where there is doubt and peace where there is anxiety. Lord, Your Word tells us in Proverbs 19:14, *"House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh."* We trust that You have a plan for your ###’s life, and we pray that she would be united with a godly spouse who will cherish her, lead her in righteousness, and honor You in their marriage.

We also lift up the young man involved in this proposal. Lord, we ask that You would soften his heart and give him wisdom to communicate with honesty and integrity. If this union is not Your will, we pray that You would close the door completely and redirect both of them toward Your perfect plan. If it *is* Your will, we ask that You would remove all hesitation, fear, or worldly influence from his heart and align his steps with Yours. Father, we rebuke any spirit of indecision, dishonesty, or disrespect in this situation. Your Word declares in 1 Corinthians 14:33, *"For God is not a God of confusion, but of peace."* We claim that peace over this family and ask that You would make Your will unmistakably clear.

We also want to gently remind this family of the importance of seeking a spouse who is equally yoked in faith. 2 Corinthians 6:14 warns, *"Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"* If this young man is not a believer or is not fully committed to walking in God’s ways, we pray that You would reveal that truth and protect your ### from a marriage that would bring spiritual harm. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and it should be entered into with reverence for You, Lord.

We also lift up the pain of your ###’s divorce, which still lingers in your hearts. Father, we ask that You would heal those wounds and replace sorrow with hope. Your Word promises in Psalm 147:3, *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."* We pray that Your healing would flow over this family, and that your ###’s future marriage would be a testimony of Your restoration and grace.

Lord, we ask that You would guard your ###’s heart during this time of waiting. Help her to trust in You completely, knowing that You hold her future in Your hands. Remind her of Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* May she find her hope and security in You alone, not in the uncertainty of man’s plans.

We also pray for wisdom for this family as they navigate these conversations. Give them discernment to know when to speak and when to wait, when to press forward and when to step back. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."* May they lean on You, Lord, and not on their own understanding.

Finally, we declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We pray that Your will would be done in this situation, and that Your name would be glorified through it all. Whether this marriage moves forward or not, we trust that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28).

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, standing in faith for your ###. We've been where you are, feeling the weight of uncertainty and the pain of unanswered questions. But we know who holds her future, and we trust in His goodness and faithfulness. Let's lift her up together, asking God to give her peace, clarity, and a deep sense of His love for her. We pray that He would guide her steps, revealing His perfect will in this situation. And we claim His promise in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Let's trust in His plans, even when we can't see the full picture. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
