We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation where a staff member is causing harm, neglect, and turmoil in the workplace—especially involving the mistreatment of a child and reckless decisions that affect others’ livelihoods. This is not just a matter of professional conduct but a deep spiritual concern, for the Bible warns us that our actions—especially toward the vulnerable—will be judged by God. *"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea"* (Matthew 18:6, WEB). The mistreatment of a child, whether through neglect or harshness, is an abomination in the sight of God, and we must pray fervently for conviction, repentance, and protection for all involved.
The influence this individual wields in firing people without wisdom or backup plans also reflects a heart that is not submitted to God’s principles of justice, stewardship, and love. *"Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it"* (Proverbs 3:27, WEB). To act in ways that destabilize families and livelihoods without care is to act contrary to the fruit of the Spirit, which is *"love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control"* (Galatians 5:22-23, WEB).
