Disciple of Prayer
My son, ### is having a lot of problems lately. I am seeking for help to pray for him. May he always follow the path of Jesus. May he always be kind to everybody and to himself.

We join you in lifting up your son before the throne of grace and we thank you for your faithful love as a parent seeking the Lord on his behalf. It is a beautiful and godly desire to see him walk in the way of Jesus and to show kindness to others and to himself, and we stand with you in that prayer.
Scripture reminds us to train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it Proverbs 22:6. We are encouraged that the Lord Himself promises, I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you Psalm 32:8. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, so to pray that your son follows the path of Jesus is to pray for the very best path for his life.
We also rejoice that you desire kindness for him, for we are called to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. True kindness flows from knowing how much Christ has loved and forgiven us, and as he grows in Christ he will learn to extend that grace both to others and to himself in a healthy, biblical way.
We pray together now for him.
Father in heaven, we bring this precious son before You in the name of Jesus. You know the problems he is facing lately, the struggles he carries in his heart and mind that perhaps even his parent does not fully see. We ask that You draw him close to Yourself, that You protect his heart and guide his steps. Lead him to love Your word and to follow Jesus with his whole heart all the days of his life. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk in kindness, humility and strength, showing the fruit of Your Spirit to everyone he meets and learning to see himself as You see him, loved, valued and created for Your purpose. Guard him from discouragement and from any path that would lead him away from You, and give his parent wisdom, peace and perseverance as they continue to love and pray for him. We ask that in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, their requests be made known to You, and that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Remind them both not to be afraid, for You are with them, that You will strengthen and uphold them with the right hand of Your righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to keep praying without ceasing and to keep pointing him gently to Christ through your words, your example and your love. Keep the word of God before him, speak truth with grace, and trust that the Lord who loves him even more than you do is at work even in these difficult days.

Your prayer for your son has been heard and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of grace on his behalf.
It is a good and holy desire that he should follow the path of Jesus and walk in kindness toward others and toward himself. To follow Christ is the grandest event in any life, and it is also a path that brings its trials, for he who would cling to Jesus with constancy must expect to be tried. Yet it is the happiest, holiest and safest life, to be where Jesus is and to go with Him wherever He leads.
We pray that the Lord will show His marvelous loving kindness to your son. While struggling after purity he will soon discover that he is unable to reach it of himself, and that discovery is a mercy, for it drives the soul to Christ. We are only to be saved by the blood of Jesus, and remember, Jesus came to save us from our sins. If we hug our sins we cannot have Christ for our Savior. Christ and the soul must part unless the soul and its sins part. May your son be led to see this and to trust not in his own earnestness or merit, but to cry as the Psalmist did, Hear my voice according unto Your loving kindness, and Consider how I love Your precepts, quicken me, O Lord, according to Your loving kindness.
That loving kindness is boundless, for God gave His Son to drink the cup of wrath and to bear our iniquity. The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all, and Jesus voluntarily took that sin upon Himself, suffered and died that sin might be condemned and destroyed. The blood of Jesus Christ, His Son, cleanses us from all sin, and there is no other foundation for hope. May your son be found by Jesus even as Jesus went forth to find Philip, for we find Jesus because Jesus first finds us. And having found Him, may he follow Him all the days of his life, believing on the Lord Jesus Christ and being saved.
We pray together that God will quicken your son by His Spirit, give him faith to lay his sins on Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, and make him upright in God's statutes. May that faith work itself out in a gentle and kind spirit, for the heart that is kept chaste for its true Husband, the Lord Jesus, cannot love sin and learns to love others with the love it has received.
May the Lord sustain you as you continue to pray for him. He who has loved His people with an everlasting love will with loving kindness draw them. We commend your son to that marvelous loving kindness, asking that he may be born again, walk in the way of Jesus, and show forth the kindness of Christ in all his ways.

God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Your prayer for your son has been received and we join you in lifting him up before the Lord with love and thanksgiving.
We understand the heaviness you feel as you watch him walk through many problems. Do not be troubled as though something strange were happening to him. Even our Lord Jesus, after the voice from heaven declared Him the Beloved Son, was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted, so that those who are baptized would learn that trials after grace are to be expected and can be endured nobly with His help. Suffering is not a sign that God has forsaken us, for God honored even His own Son by leading Him through suffering, and He uses such seasons to perfect and strengthen us.
We pray that God will show His great kindness and mercy to your son. It is not by works of righteousness that we are saved, but according to His mercy through the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, which He pours out abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior. May the Lord justify your son by His grace, make him an heir of the hope of eternal life, and keep him sanctified in Christ Jesus.
We ask the Father to keep your son on the path of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved, to guard his steps, to give him strength to resist temptation, and to fill his heart with the grace to be kind to others and also to himself, remembering that every good gift and all true kindness come from God alone. May he know that he is loved, sustained daily by the Lord who gives all things, and called to walk in holiness and love.
