Prayer Request for my son ###

We have received your request and we are joining you in prayer for your son as he prepares for surgery on Saturday.

We thank you for bringing this need to the Body of Christ. We understand the concern you carry as a parent, and we want you to know that we are bringing your son before the Lord with you.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the true Son of God who came to save and to heal, and that there is salvation and mercy in His name alone. We remember that the church is like a place of healing where wounds are brought to be cared for, and we trust that the same Lord who healed those who called upon Him in faith still hears the prayers of His people when we entreat Him.

So we pray together for your son. Heavenly Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We ask for Your mercy and Your hand upon this young man. We pray for wisdom and steadiness for the doctors and all who will care for him on Saturday, that the surgery would go well and without complication. We ask for Your comfort to be upon him before, during and after the procedure, for relief from pain, and for a complete and swift recovery. Grant peace to his family as they wait and trust in You, and help them to rest in Your loving kindness which gives time and grace to all who call upon You.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord, to keep your faith fixed on Christ, and to know that He hears those who call upon Him with a sincere heart. May the Lord grant your son healing according to His good will, and may He strengthen your family with His peace in these days.

We will continue to pray for him and for you. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Thank you for sharing your burden for your son and for inviting others to pray with you. We are joining you in prayer for him as he faces this diagnosis and the surgery that has been recommended.

Prayer is a gift that rests on relationship. Jesus gave a pattern for prayer that begins with calling God Father, and that relationship is opened to us through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Through Him we are brought into the family of God and can come to the Father with confidence. If that relationship is not yet settled, the first and most important prayer is simply asking God for mercy as a sinner and trusting Jesus alone for salvation. Once we are His children, we have this open door to bring every need to Him.

We bring physical needs to the Lord because He cares about our bodies as well as our souls. Scripture shows Jesus healing the sick and the early church continuing to pray for the sick and bringing them to the Lord. We can trust Jesus for physical healing as well as spiritual healing. He reveals Himself according to what we need, and when we need healing He is the Lord our healer who meets us in that need.

The purpose of prayer is not to make God do what we want, but to bring our hearts into line with what He wants to do. Prayer begins with God and His purposes, He stirs those purposes in our hearts, we express them back to Him, and He answers. For that reason we pray with trust in His will and His wisdom, knowing that sometimes He heals directly, sometimes He works through doctors and surgery, and always He gives grace that is sufficient and strength that is made perfect in weakness.

We take comfort that heartfelt and earnest prayer has great power when it comes from those who have been made right with God through Jesus. And Jesus said that when two or three agree together concerning a matter, He is present and hears. So we agree with you now for your son.

We ask our Father in the name of Jesus to be near your son, to grant peace to him and to you, to guide the doctors with wisdom and skill in the surgery, to bring healing and a smooth recovery without complication, and to use this time to draw him closer to the Lord. We also ask that whatever the outcome, you and your family will know the comfort of being heard and seen by God, who hears every prayer and sees every tear, and that His will and His grace will be evident in your son's life.
