Prayer Request for my son ###

We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting up your son in this time of need. We thank God for the healing power of Jesus Christ, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4-5). Father, we ask that You guide the hands of the surgeons and medical team as they prepare to operate on him. Grant them wisdom, precision, and skill, Lord, so that the procedure may go smoothly and without complication.
Heavenly Father, we also pray for your divine touch of healing upon your son. We know that You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too difficult for You (Jeremiah 32:27). We ask that You would bring complete restoration to his body, that he may experience Your peace and comfort in this time of anxiety. Strengthen his faith, Lord, and remind him that You are with him always, even in the valley of the shadow of surgery (Psalm 23:4).
We rebuke any spirit of fear or doubt that may try to take hold of him or your family, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that your son is surrounded by Your angels, and that Your healing power is at work in his life even now.
Lord, we also lift up the emotional and spiritual well-being of your son. Surgery can be a frightening experience, but we know that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, through whom we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be healed, saved, or delivered (Acts 4:12). We trust in Your promises, Lord, and we believe that Your will for your son is wholeness, health, and restoration.

A practical help in this kind of waiting can be to go with him on Saturday if you are able, bring a small notebook, and write down what the surgical team shares about the procedure and the recovery at home so you can remember it later without worry. Staying close to his medical team for any concerns before or after the surgery is the best way to care for him, and we will be praying alongside that care.

Your request concerning your son has been laid before the Lord and we join you in carrying this burden to the throne of grace. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are painful and press us to seek a physician, but how gracious it is that we have a Good Physician above all earthly physicians, whose very leaves are for the healing of the nations.
We are told in the Word that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and from this we learn that the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, but even His leaves, the little things as it were about Him, are full of healing virtue. See in Him the great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and thus He showed that pardon and healing were one, and that healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction.
Be encouraged that intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears, for the prayer of Christ Himself is of this character, and there is not a single grain of incense in His censer that is for Himself. What wonders intercessory prayer has wrought, and how earnestly we may plead as we remember how He pleaded, Father, keep them, keep them from the evil. Though you may feel at your wits end and your prayer may seem to reel to and fro, God will hear the prayer of a staggering man, and the prayer that has not any sense in it because the man who prays is at his wits end. They were a long while before they prayed to the Lord, but He was not a long while before He answered their prayer, so that a true prayer from one who is near unto the gates of distress is a prevailing prayer.
Let us pray together for your son.
O Lord, our God, who art pitiful and full of compassion, we bring this dear son before Thee in his affliction. Thou hast seen his sickness and Thou knowest the counsel of the physicians that surgery is appointed for Saturday. We ask Thee to lay Thy healing hand upon him. Guide the hands and minds of those who shall attend him, and grant skill and wisdom to the surgeon. If it be Thy will, restore him to health without complication, ease his pain, and raise him up again to praise Thee. Above all, we pray that he may know that the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and that he may kiss the Son and put his trust in Him, for when we are forgiven we are healed indeed. Let him and his family hear the word, Son, thy sins are forgiven thee, and know the healing that flows from pardoning grace. Let your prayer rise to His throne out of this low place, expecting that He will be very pitiful. May this trial draw his heart nearer to Christ, who took our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself, that we might be healed.
We will continue to plead with the Most High for him, spreading this case before Him and pressing our suit with all the arguments of His mercy and His promises in Christ. May the Lord hear and answer according to His perfect wisdom and love, and may you be kept in peace as you wait upon Him.
