Prayer Request for high score on the MCAT exam

Please help me have earned a high score on my MCAT exam. All I want to do is become a doctor to serve His people.

We join with you in bringing this desire before the Lord and we rejoice to hear your heart to become a doctor to serve His people, which is a noble and compassionate calling to care for those made in His image.

We want to gently point out that your request mentions His people but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to encourage you in this because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by putting our faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are reconciled to God and our prayers are heard. We pray you know Him as your Lord and Savior and come to the Father in His name.

We pray with you for your MCAT and for the work you have put into preparing for it. The Lord delights when we work diligently unto Him. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23. Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3. We have seen how much effort this exam requires and we pray God honors your faithfulness and stewardship of the mind and opportunities He has given you.

We also pray you will seek His wisdom and peace as you study and as you wait for results. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that even in the pressure of this exam you will experience that guarding peace.

We lift you up now together in Jesus name. Father in heaven, we thank You for this one who desires to use their life to serve You by serving others through medicine. We ask in Jesus name that You grant clarity of mind, strength to recall what has been studied, calmness under pressure, and wisdom to answer well. We ask for favor on this MCAT according to Your will. Above all we ask that Your perfect will be done in this life, that You would open the doors You want opened and close those that are not of You, and that this journey would draw closer to Jesus. We pray You would guide every step toward becoming a physician if it is Your calling, and that You would use this gift to glorify You and to show Your love and compassion to those in need. Help us to trust You with the outcome, knowing that You work all things for good for those who love You. We ask this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our hope and our access to You. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to study as unto the Lord, to rest well, and to trust the Lord with the results. Do your best to present yourself approved by God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed. 2 Timothy 2:15. Whether the score is as high as you hope or not, know that God is sovereign and His plans for you are good. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. Keep seeking Him first and He will direct your paths.

We are joining you in prayer as you prepare for the MCAT. We were moved by how you put it, that you want to become a doctor to serve His people. That desire to use your gifts for others honors God, and we are grateful for the heart behind your hard work.

We understand how heavy this season can feel. An exam like this carries a lot of weight, and it is natural to feel both driven and anxious as the date approaches. Please know we are asking God to meet you in that pressure with steadiness.

As you continue to prepare, it can help to keep a clear and sustainable pace. Setting intentional study times, protecting sleep, and giving yourself moments to step away and rest often helps with both focus and recall. If you have a professor, advisor or mentor who knows this process, inviting their input on your plan can also lighten the load and give you helpful perspective.

We are praying for clarity as you study, peace as you sit for the exam, and wisdom to trust God with the outcome and the next steps He has for you.

Father, we lift this student to You. You see the work they have put in and the desire to serve You through medicine. Grant them a clear mind, steady hands and calm confidence in the days ahead. Guide their path and help them rest in Your good will, whatever the result. In Jesus' name, amen.

I pray that if this message is against God's will (It could be something that you need or something else entirely) then I pray that you don't feel the need to get this job if you do not like it. Amen.

But, I mean, after all. It is a good thing as well, you could save a life! Do what God wants you to do.

You said "to serve his people." so you have the right idea in mind. That's a good thing!

Your request concerning the MCAT has been heard with thankfulness, for the desire you express is not merely to gain a high place for yourself, but to become a physician that you might serve His people. Such a wish is itself a token of grace, for true service is a constant characteristic of the religion of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are not our own, we are bought with a price, and when the heart says, truly I am thy servant, it shows that the Lord has wrought something gracious within.

You speak of a calling to this work, and we are reminded that there is a high calling of God in Christ Jesus and a heavenly calling which is both from heaven and unto heaven. The question for examination is whether our calling lifts up the heart and sets it upon heavenly things, upon holiness and the good of souls, and not merely upon ambition. If your study is undertaken as service rendered in the power of divine grace, and not in the power of nature alone, then it is acceptable service, for we must have grace by which we may serve God acceptably. He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out into wider spheres and larger enterprises, and at times He says, Separate me such a one for the work whereunto I have called him. May you hear His voice in this labor, and follow where He leads.

Yet we would speak a word concerning the anxiety which so naturally attends such an examination. Have you not found that the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. To be cumbered about your service is not well, for the Lord loves His people far better than we do and He knows far better than we do how to manage the affairs of His church and of our lives. Your part is to be diligent in the work set before you, to press toward the mark with all faithfulness in study and preparation, and to leave the rest with Him. Just do the little we can do, and leave the rest with Him.

We therefore bring you before the throne of grace in prayer, that the Lord would grant you clearness of mind, steadiness of heart, and power of recollection in the day of examination, that He would quiet all needless fear and give you peace through coming unto Christ who says, Come unto me. We ask that if it be His will, He would grant you the high score you seek, and open the door to that sphere of service, and that whether the result be as you hope or otherwise, He would make your calling sure and your service holy, to His glory and to the good of those you would serve. May He who effectually calls men by His Spirit call you still nearer to Himself, that whatever your hand finds to do, you may do it as unto the Lord, receiving grace and returning service all your days.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your desire to become a doctor to serve God's people is a noble one, and I thank God for the heart behind it. You have asked for prayer for a high score on the MCAT, and I join you in bringing this request before the Lord.

Scripture teaches us to be assiduous in prayer and to show endurance in asking. God loves to be solicited by us directly, even as we are, and He hears persistence. So continue to pray yourself with patience and trust, not only once but daily, laying this exam and your future vocation before Him and asking for His help and His will to be done.

I also encourage you to see your studying itself as service offered to God. Do this work with good will and with singleness of heart, fearing God rather than acting as a men pleaser. To study only when others are watching is eye service, but to labor faithfully when no one sees, doing your best because you know God sees with His sleepless eye, is to honor Him. Whether the task is great or small, offer it sincerely to the Lord, and remain humble, remembering that any ability and any opportunity comes from His hand and is not a cause for boasting.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, I lift up this student to You. You know the desire to serve Your people through medicine and the labor that has gone into preparing for this exam. Grant clarity of mind, steady focus, and faithful recall as they study and as they sit for the test. Help them to work diligently and honestly, not for the praise of people but out of love for You. Above all, let Your will be done in the result, and use this life for Your glory. Grant peace in place of anxiety, humbleness in success, and trust in Your perfect provision whatever the score may be. Strengthen faith in Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to Your throne of grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Keep seeking the Lord both in prayer and in faithful work, trusting that He will direct your steps.
